GP appointment went well!

So I had a follow up appointment about my latest blood results… vitamin D was at 174 and ferritin at 43.5 ug/L (20.0 - 130.0)

My GP was not concerned about my vitamin D level and said resume at whatever I am taking as it’s not a toxic level 🤷🏻‍♀️

The ferritin level however he agreed is in range but quite low so has agreed to do a full iron panel test…

I think it helps that the GP is quite young and probably fresh out of uni hence still has the passion to help people…

He’s also agreed to test if i am celiac because I have told him I changed my diet and now eat more red meat and more healthier and avoid gluten as much as possible I also avoid dairy products high in lactose..

He is also checking all my thyroid levels including T3…

He has booked me in for an ECG but I think because of my symptoms this is protocol.. I have had ecg before and there is never anything wrong with my heart…

I truly believe it’s my iron that is affecting me at the minute my thyroid levels have been good for a while..:

My symptoms are -

Breathlessness

No energy

Heart palps

No get up and go

Aching when doing anything strenuous

Dizziness

Miserable 😞

Glad it went well

if you’re only eating limited gluten there’s not much point doing coeliac test

You would need to eat gluten at every meal for 6 weeks before test

thanks I have been eating gluten everyday for this reason and the test is not for a while yet… so should show on the test… gluten and dairy are definitely a problem for me… dairy makes me sleepy unless it’s low in lactose.. and gluten always makes me feel sick 🤢

These results were done on the 22nd feb before 9.oclock empty stomach and no meds-

I take 125mcg levo and 10mcg of T3

TSH - 0.12 (0.27- 4.5)

FT4 - 23.9 ( 11.0 - 23.0)

FT3 - 6.00 (3.6- 6.8)

day before test did you split T3 and take last 5mcg dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

How long before this test did you start eating high levels of gluten?

Once you get coeliac blood test out way and on absolutely strictly gluten free diet……retest again 6-8 weeks later

You may find can reduce dose levothyroxine a little
