Two calculators have been written especially for members to use. Use whichever works for you! Or both.

Decant

Calculator link: thyroid.chingkerrs.online/

Original post: healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

FancyPants54

Calculator link: thyroid.dopiaza.org/

Original post: healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Many thanks to Decant and FancyPants54's husband for writing them and making them available.

This post is simply to combine the links to both calculators in one post

The attached image shows both calculators.

Please see my own replies below which explain how you can very easily copy and paste results from these calculators into your own posts without needing to use screenshots, etc.

Helvella, thank you! I had forgotten about the Chingkerrs calculator, (despite having it bookmarked πŸ˜†). Would it seem too ungrateful to ask if it can be modified to include fT3 Γ· fT4 calculation so that it can be used in conjuction with Midgley et al's research: 'variation in the biochemical response to l-thyroxine therapy and relationship with peripheral thyroid hormone conversion efficiency '?

Thank you too to FancyPants54 and hubbie: I frequently use and recommend your calculator.

Just trying to reply quickly - did you read the previous discussions with Β Decant and others about what might be desirable enhancements?

I'm happy for people to reply here but might well delete replies at some point.

This was intended to simplify and not digress into details discussions! :-)

Oops, sorry to digress! No I haven't read the previous discussion with Decant et al I got an email notification that you had posted and came straight to this post. I could easily spend all day on Healthunlocked, unfortunately the demands of life get in the way!

On thyroid.chingkerrs.online/, enter your numbers, then click the Copy button at the bottom. That will copy the text (which you can already see in the results box). And Paste that into your post.

Like this:

TSH 1.25 mIU/L (0.3 - 3.45) 30.2%

On thyroid.dopiaza.org/, enter your numbers, then click the Copy button. That will copy the text (which you can already see to the left of the button). And Paste that into your post.

Like this:

TSH: 1.25 mU/l (Range 0.3 - 3.45) 30.16%

You will need to copy and paste each line separately but that should only take moments longer.

As my other post suggests I haven't a clue how to use it. Too ill and too old now.

These are the instructions for the calcuator on this page thyroid.chingkerrs.online:

Using the calculator

Input values for the result and also for the min and max range

If both min and max are entered then the calculator shows the % of the result through the range

Copy the results to the clipboard using the "Copy" button; then paste them elsewhere

In other words, enter the values from your own test results (i.e. your personal number plus the range numbers). The calculator will give you your test result as a percentage through range.

Example: Your test came back as a TSH 2.8, range 0.4.- 4.5

Entering those numbers in the relevant boxes gives a value of 58.5% (see screenshot attached)

Some people find this helpful to understanding how their current medication dose is working for them, based on their test results.

Oh - I don't use these calculators - I use a pencil and paper and have an old Cassio hand held calculator with large enough buttons and visuals - to check myself on.

What are you trying to do ?

Brightness14, I have tried to help in reply to your comment here healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

helvella profile image
helvellaAdministratorThyroid UK in reply to RedApple

I have gone back to the original post and used the calculator here to work out the percentages. And pasted them in a reply there.

My intent had been to provide Brightness14 with guidance on how to work them out thinking that gives her the ability to apply the same technique to any results.

It was not at all clear that there were additional issues - and her reply to pennyannie here was missed by me.
