Cancer sufferer T3 below range, T4 50%, TSH 1.6 advice

Hello wise caring people. On one result, looks like they are a poor converter.

My best pal is probably loosing battle with cancer - mid 60s male. He had radiation treatment on throat cancer 3 1/2 years ago. Treatment now stopped and has a lymph node node issue that is not responding, after throat and lung cancers sorted!

His monitor my health results from today

T3 2.7 on range 3.1 to 6.8. below range

T4 is ~ 50% 17.4 (range 12 to 22)

TSH 1.58 (range 0.27 to 4.2)

He has been cold and fatigued for a couple of years. I got him to do test this week. We have talked about it before but he was having really good care from Christies in Manchester.

had stage 4 (bad) throat cancer - at start of covid, this was sorted by radiation.

He then had immuno therapy to sort cancer in his lungs, which was amazing.

~6 months ago they stopped treatment as they could do no more and he did not want any more. He now has a cancer in lymph node.

Probably if not covid times they would have given him Chemo at start and that might have stopped further progressions.

We are in South Cheshire if anyone can PM me with an Endo they would recommend ?

Thinking - need to work fast. Action plan :

a) Contact Christy(cancer hospital that he is now discharged from ) and see if they tested fT3 and ask what they think

b) Just take some T3 in small doses to see if you feel better. Measure temperature and heat readings before and after. Do heart checks. He says pulse is about 65 and pressure low but has had some arrhythmia going on during the treatments

c) Retest bloods and check no drugs you are taking are affecting the results

d) Private endocrinologist I have a list somewhere I was going to go to but I am a bit of a simpler case.

Your care and concern for your friend come over loud and clear.

What isn't quite so clear is who the blood test results belong to...... I'm assuming your friend? but could easily be wrong, and they're yours.

Perhaps edit your Post to make this, and what help/advice you are asking for clearer. To edit your Post, click on More and the choice to edit should be there.

I wish you both as well as it is possible for you to be.
