help with bloods.

As you will see from my previous post my daughter had been to see an endocrinologist concerning symptoms that include physical fatigue, hair loss, low moods, big thirst, migraines, itchy skin, brain fog, heart palpitation etc. He told her to take multi vitamins, vitamin D and iron . He said he’d retest her bloods. We asked for full iron panel and thyroid antibodies as well as retest. When she went for retest he didn’t do all the ones he’d done at first appointment and was abrupt when asked to add the full iron panel. The results have come back and we’d appreciate any help reading them before our appointment at the end of Feb. We are confused why get results from first bloods send off to take multivitamin, vitamin D and iron tablets then not retest ! He said he wanted her iron increasing from 14 to 50. We want to prepare as we feel he’s not explosive from bloods why she feels so poorly.

It takes a long time to improve low ferritin

Many members have had good results taking Three Arrows iron supplements

Presumably she is now supplementing daily vitamin D, magnesium and vitamin B complex

Get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing again in another 2 months

Including Thyroglobulin antibodies

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12

retest full iron panel 3-4 times a year if taking iron supplements. Stop iron supplements 5-7 days before test

Test early morning, only water to drink between waking and test. Avoid high iron rich dinner night before test

Medichecks iron panel test
