I haven't been able to help a friend of mine. Whom I met on this forum. I sound like a witch but I'm not I'm just telling it like it is if you are not out of range for T4 and TSH they will not treat you for T3. Am I correct or not I just didn't want her waiting around thinking she's going to get what she wants when she didn't get it from the GP or the endo. I think I upset her and that was not my goal it's the holidays and I actually care about her. It's just been such a struggle over the years I mean if I didn't fight for what I got I'd be like bigger than this house I'd be a fat Broad instead of who I am and I'm still trying to get it right. The doctors don't know what they're doing it's rare you meet one who even is willing to listen to your needs or what you're going through! God help us all happy holidays thyroid UK!

I couldn't figure out how to add to my post! Everybody always thinks that I care about my weight. Sure, we all care about our weight and how we look. But I care more about how I feel! I am tired of being tired. I am tired of not feeling well. I am tired of fighting fatigue. I am tired of it all! I want to go back to work...and I need stamina to do that.

I got prescribed t3 with fairly ordinary results that weren't way out of range. My TSH was just slightly under range at 0.19 with the range starting at 0,27. My ft4 was at 60% through range and my ft3 was 17% through range. I was prescribed t3 because these results had been fairly consistent for years and I still had symptoms. My ft4 was nowhere near the top of the range but ft3 was lagging way behind suggesting poor conversion.So in some cases with the right doctor it is possible to get t3 as long as you can show poor conversion over a period of time.

Having said this I have to add that I had to be pushy to get the t3 by pointing out to the endo all I've said above to the endo.
