I’m Quite Annoyed Over My Latest Blood Tests.

Three months ago my Levo was reduced because they thought I was taking too much. This week I had my blood test and they haven’t even tested T3 as last time so how am I supposed to know if it’s much better or not?.

The September results were:

TSH - 0.03 [0.35-4.94]

FT4 - 20.1 [9.0-19.0]

FT3 - 4.89 [2.6-5.7]

Decembers results, taken early this week:

TSH -0.03

T4 - 18.5

They seem more concerned about testing liver etc according to the rest of the results in the list, they seemed concerned about my liver last time. I do none of the things that are supposed to be damaging to the liver so I don’t know what’s going on there.

No vitamins were tested this time except D3 and B12 ! and they are both fine.

I had asked them to repeat everything that was tested last time…but did they heck!

So can you tell from this whether I need to reduce further?

I am on 100x6 days and 50 on Sundays as was suggested in my previous post about all this.

When I went down to 75 previously I had been tired pretty early in the evenings which was unlike me.

Thank you.

Your original test showed your FT3 at 74% of its range which is pretty good.

Are you sure to allow 24 hours between last Levo dose and blood draw?

Do you stop biotin containing supplements 3-5 days before blood test?

The acid test is really how you feel on your new dose as compared to previous dose?

What were your B12 & D3 results?

If they are still having issues with your GP due to your low TSH then quote them NICE guidelines and take responsibility for your TSH yourself.

The first paragraph in the NICE (NHS) Thyroid Disease, Assessment and Management guidelines says :

nice.org.uk/guidance/ng145

"Your responsibility”

The recommendations in this guideline represent the view of NICE, arrived at after careful consideration of the evidence available. When exercising their judgement, professionals and practitioners are expected to take this guideline fully into account, alongside the individual needs, preferences and values of their patients or the people using their service. It is not mandatory to apply the recommendations, and the guideline does not override the responsibility to make decisions appropriate to the circumstances of the individual, in consultation with them and their families and carers or guardian. Hi, yes I try to do everything right. In my last (blood) post SlowDragon thought I might not be converting properly as the T4 was over range, hence the lower dose.

This is the post I mean,

She said you might get a better conversion rate dropping your levo slightly but of course we don;t have an FT3 to be able to judge that.

Suggest you get a private test run to include TSH, FT4 & FT3.

See link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost.thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...

There is also a new company offering walk in (includes free blood draw) & mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...

Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.
