Does Roseway Laboratories prescribe Thybon T3?

Hi

Does anyone know if Roseway prescribe Thybon Henning?

I had been using Thybon Henning but when it ran out I got some Tiromel as it was the only option I could source. It does not seem as effective as Thybon and I was wondering if Roseway prescribe Thybon.

Many thanks

I was going to say yes too as I have had it from there. The consultation and prescription service is great with them.

they can dispense but not prescribe, just like any pharmacy they will need a prescription. If they can’t help I know another mail order pharmacy that’s on the Thyroid UK list. I’ve been using them for a few years with no issues. Can DM you the name

I just saw Roseway do now have their own prescriber so you don’t need a prescription. Must be strange that they are taking business away from private doctors who were earning money for routine prescribing.

Thank you Wired123. I have set up an appointment so hopefully it will work out less expensive than my previous experience. Previously I paid over £200 to see a private endo who gave me a prescription for Thybon Henning 20 mcg pills. I can’t remember exactly what I then paid to the pharmacy but it was quite a lot.

I tried Thybon some years ago, was about 25p a pill from Roseway itself. Hopefully it has stayed at a similar price but you can always shop around - use the list of pharmacies from Thyroid UK. I’ve already sent you the name of one, Roseway are a decent outfit and never had any complaints with them.

The prescriber at Roseway is a GP. I get my LDN from there.

That’s interesting Wired123 I didn’t realise that a prescriber was even a thing. I used Roseway for TBH and like others said they were great. Thanks for the tip.

The cost of a telephone consultation with the Roseway Lab prescriber is very reasonable. Way less than a private GP. It's an excellent service.

Yes, they do. I got 100 Thybon Henning 20mcg from Roseway Labs last month, for £60without prescription.

SO great that they are now permitting those of us who self source and self fund, to be able to buy from a bona fide supplier without a prescription.

grumpyold, 'SO great that they are now permitting those of us who self source and self fund, to be able to buy from a bona fide supplier without a prescription.'

It would be illegal for a UK pharmacy to sell you prescription medication without prescription. Roseway labs will have been your 'prescriber', instead of your own GP. i.e. there will be a prescription signed by a qualified medical practitioner at Roseway for your medication.

Oops, that's what I meant. That I didn't have a prescription from my own GP. I have had so many arguments with all of them at my surgery re my requests for T3, that it is very helpful to be able to bypass them all and go straight to Roseway Labs.

And far cheaper and quicker than going down the endo route.

That is good to know , I moved back from Ireland and still pay an Irish special to get my meds from Germany, who won’t supply if I change to a uk doctor! Does Roseway labs also do tirosint T4 ?

grumpyold in reply tojand123

I'm sorry, I don't know if they do Tirosint. The prescriber I spoke to was very helpful though, so I think they would try to accommodate your preferences. Fingers crossed for you.

Hi, do you know if Roseway pharmacy write to your GP after using their prescribing service for T3 or is it kept confidential from GP? Thanks

I refused to tell Roseway who my GP was. They still prescribed for me, thankgoodness. My GP has been worse than useless and don't need to know I get T3. Good luck.

It's confidential between you and the Lab.

Hi Eton, yes they do. I just received mine in the post a few days ago. First time I am trying T3.

Thanks ChristinaMay. Do you mind me asking what the prescriber will cover in the consultation. My appointment isn’t until mid Dec. Good luck with the T3.

Hi all, just found this post, must have missed it earlier. It has given me fresh hope! I have all but given up on the opportunity of trying T3 as I live in Spain where it seems that it is almost illegal to even mention "T3"! In 20 years I had one appointment with an Endo - which was disastrous. She tried hard to take me off the 25 mcg of levothyroxine that I was on at that time (I am still only on 50 mcg). She refused to even look at my certificate that says I have a polymorphism on the DIO2 - homozygous. I have learned to live with my symptoms, but it is a miserable way to live. Could anyone here know if it is actually possibly to go the Roseway Laboratories as I am living in Spain, would they even be allowed to send me a prescription in Spain. Thank you for reading, any pointers at all would be very helpful.

The best people to answer your question will be Roseway Labs themselves. Send them an email enquiry: info@rosewaylabs.com
