It’s the same strength but I’ve found it more gentle and stable than UK brands which seem to start off with higher potency which falls over time. It’s a different formulation so perhaps has a slower release.
Thank you jimh111. I was taking half a 99mcg T3 Thybon Henning for over 6 months. I increased to a full tablet last couple of days and found I'm not as tired as I have been. I have also taken Cellfood/Oxylift for over 3 months, 7 drops in water 3 x a day, which has ended my two long (4 to 8 hour) naps a day in approx 2 months but was still feeling quite tired throughout the day, and as I said last couple of days took the 99mcg and have felt a lot less tired.
I've found it quite weak, but I take far less than you. 20mcg liothyronine daily, along with 112mcg levo. I asked my pharmacist not to give me it again, as I didn't feel the usual T3 effect when I was on them. Everybody is different, I guess.
I take Thybon 20 Henning which are 20 mcg liothyronine. I’m not aware of any 99 mcg tablets but assume you are using Thybon 100 Henning which are nominal 100 mcg liothyronine. If you are you should not go from half a tablet to a full tablet. 100 mcg liothyronine is a supra-physiologic dose and could trigger atrial fibrillation and stroke. Some people do need these high doses but they build up slowly.
Even though liothyronine has quick effects some effects like changes in bone or cardiac structure and function change more slowly. The effects of liothyronine build up over days and weeks so I would advise you to reduce your dose and build up very slowly. In this respect 100 mcg tablets are not very suitable, I’m not sure why they are manufactured other than for abuse by athletes and body builders. Try to get 20 or 25 mcg tablets.
It is because of the way Thybon Henning state their potency against liothyronine sodium.
I think I worked out that because HCl is heavier than Na, 100 micrograms of liothyronine hydrochloride has the same molarity as 97.9 micrograms of liothyronine sodium.
Thanks, I hadn't seen any of this, the difference is too small to matter. I guess it also affects how we compare liothyronine with T3 content of NDT although I suspect absorption and other factors make a bigger difference.
I'm on it and nothing to compare it to but I am happy on my 25mcg a day with 75mcg Levo.
very hard to get and very expensive
