More gaslighting with obtaining T3 🙄

As some will know my T3 was stopped on Nov 9th by my gp due to the fact I'm waiting for an urgent referral to endo.. , I urged my gp to just supply me with a month's cover of T3 to be sure I have enough to tide me over, she told me that wouldn't be necessary as my appointment would come before I run out.. 😂. Appointment came... Dec 27th..😂

So for the last week I've been trying to get the T3 prescription re installed, I managed this and recived a message, it would be in the chemist for Thursday, it was delivered on Friday (wrong T3😠) spoke to the pharmacy and we're told a load of tosh.

Helvella did some digging and found out there is nothing wrong with distribution or obtaining it.

I was told to call on Saturday morning to see if the pharmacy as managed to get the Roma 10micrograms.."no sorry still having problems" 🤷‍♀️ "call back on Monday later afternoon"

Just done that, to hear the pharmacy tell me... "When they put a request in for liothyronine it's not specifically stated what kind, so we just get what the distributors have in stock🤔 so it can be generic" 🤔.. So I slip in that Roma don't seem to have a problem at this minute with distribution,.. Pharmacy," no its not distribution, it's what we can obtain through the supplier. "

OK I say, but people like myself who have a prescription for a certain liothyronine (lactose free ect) we must obtain that drug.

He then said.. "as I say it's what we're given when we order the drug"

So I say... "OK let's say I take T3 mercury pharma, that's my prescription, then I come for my next prescription are you saying I could recive a different maker.

"

"well yes it could be morningside or any other make"

I then say.. "you know we are advised as thyroid patients to stick with one hormone (mercury pharma) morningside ect) we are advised to not mix the drugs up!

" well yes I have heard of this, but unfortunately we can only obtain what they have in stock"

Let's just say I nearly passed out with all the gas he was emmiting🤣.. He just kept going round in circles with distribution, availability of the drugs, and generic drugs🤷‍♀️

Anyway still waiting on the Roma T3... 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Oh flip. Did it say Roma on the script? You are lactose free so it would be remiss to supply you with a T3 drug that isn't lactose free no matter what their buyers say!! Lol.....

I've been on Roma (lactose free for over a year now, getting it from this pharmacy, I even noted this when I rang up saying "but my prescription is for Roma" why have you given me mercury pharma? Which contains lactose "Because that's what they sent".. that's probably a lie as mercury pharma is on the pharmacy shelfs and doesn't need to be Orderd I like my roma🤷‍♀️

He stated... When we order liothyronine in we have to accept what come in🤔

What about lactose free, if I take lactose free I can't just take any old liothyronine 🤦‍♀️...

But if your prescription is for capsules then that is what he is obliged to supply and as it is only Roma who make T3 capsules it shouldn't be an issue???

You would think so🤷‍♀️ also he was saying about generic thyroid drugs being supplied, I've no idea what he was going on about 🤷‍♀️ although a member did post a couple of days ago about the teva, and a thought it may not have been the teva as she was having a reaction to it.It's all gone Pete tong.. Nonsense out of this pharmacist mouth🤦‍♀️

As far as I'm aware generic just means brand names as none of them have a specific drug name.... example T4 Aristo lactose free (brand / generic) now given a name Vencamil which if you can get them to write that on the script then that is what they have to supply.... I've yet to get my GP to write the script correctly but they are now supplying so every time they get it wrong it's their issue, hopefully their pharmacist will see the light

If the prescription is properly specified with a brand, I don’t understand how they can give you another brand? Surely they would have to return the script to GP and it remains undispensed?

No they just despenced mercury pharma liothyronine, I think the error as arrived because the gp scrubbed my T3 prescription, so when I asked it to be re installed until I see endo, someone I guess at the surgery a gp 🤷‍♀️as just put liothyronine on the prescription and not stated Roma (lactose free) it's all I can come up with, but the pharmacy know I have Roma, had it prescribed for over 12 months now and told its on the system numerous times🤦‍♀️

Then you need to speak to GP to have or properly prescribed as pharmacy is under no obligation to provide a specific brand without it. Lots of pharmacies are getting quite strict on this due to costs.

Tell them to stop b@))ering about birkie - what a shower

Two very useful references one in a Pharmacy magazine and the original Gov.uk decision with regards to fixing the brand.

They need to raise their game.😉👍

I had a similar issue with my local pharmacy. What I did to get what I needed was to call the manufacture and ask them if they could post the medication they had in stock direct to my pharmacy. This way the pharmacy and myself got the drug. To obtain it from the manufacturer all the pharmacy needs to do is make a phone call to them each time your prescription comes through rather than going through their normal supply route. I gave my pharmacy the manufacturer’s phone number and they agreed to do this each time. It worked like a dream and I got my ‘named’ medication through this route for years

Sometimes you just have to do their job for them yourself and work it to your favour.

Do you think its a college requirement for pharmacists to attend a class on how to gaslight the customers …If we didn’t read this stuff we wouldn’t believe it.
