For those of you who are taking the above brand of T3, apparently Alliance Healthcare is the sole supplier of this particular brand of T3. I telephoned Alliance and there is a problem at the moment regarding distribution. It's stuck at the main depot waiting to be delivered to other smaller depots for distribution to pharmacies.
I also telephoned the company who manufacture this Liothyronine and there is no problem at this end. The hold up is solely due to Alliance's distribution problems.
This is an ongoing problem where this brand becomes out of stock. Over a period of 2 years I have had to change pharmacists three times chasing this brand where after a few months it becomes unobtainable.
I have telephoned numerous pharmacies, mostly independent, to try and get my prescription filled but they have either not heard of the medication, only receive from their suppliers what they send and have no control over what is sent or their supplier does not handle Advanz/Mercury Pharma.
One pharmacist told me he has this problem a lot with several patients regarding out of stock brands of Liothyronine.
Also, apparently Morningside is no longer available due to the cost to the Pharmacist. I was told Pharmacists only get paid £60 for Liothyronine and Morningside costs £160 which means the Pharmacist has to foot the £100 and obviously they are not prepared to do this.
I have tried Teva and was quite ill on it and I'm loathe to keep experimenting on different brands of T3. I just don't know what else to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?
