I saw a physician s associate , or whatever the new role title is , earlier
After me trying to ask his advice on how we would know if ft4 was high if test is not
Done , and the possible consequences of it creeping up and up , he agreed it was relevant and would I like it done , as they can’t take any notice of monitor my health one I did..
I asked if he thought it was a good idea . He has to say yes!!!!!!!
Already have blood test for something else at 10.50 on Friday. Should be ok at that time if I fast ? Or best rebook for earlier?
Poor man was out of his depth and not used to someone trying to have a conversation. He just wanted to role out ‘facts ‘

Depends how hung up on the TSH your doctor is. Because it will be lower at 10.50 than it would before 9 am. It's not the fasting that is important, it's the time of day. And, of course, if you don't normally have it at that time, you won't be able to compare the result with your last test.
And, you'd still need to leave a gap of 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the blood draw.
I'm even more puzzled how they can ignore FT3, which is far more important. I'm inclined to think that the reasons are that a) they want to diagnose as few people as possible, and b) they want to keep the doses of THR as low as they possibly can without actually killing anybody! But, I'm a cynic...
Well, it's not a supplement. Supplements top up levels. T3 is thyroid hormone replacement. It shuts down the thyroid - as does T4 - and replaces the hormone it can no-longer make.
GPs, under the NHS, are not allowed to initiate prescription. That has to come from an NHS endo, and then the GP has to agree to continue prescribing it - they don't always do that, from what I've read!
You can't supply a deficiency. Deficiencies happen by themselves. You can supplement a deficiency, but that takes us back full circle: to supplement means to top up, T3 replaces. Sorry, I'm somewhat pedantic where the English language is concerned.
He said they couldn't take notice of Monitor My Health test result did he?
Did you tell him "Monitor My Health is run by the NHS team at Exeter Clinical Laboratory, based within the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. The laboratory already offers a first class service to more than 300 GP practices, independent healthcare providers and community hospitals." (Copied from the MMH web site Home Page.)
There is no reason on earth why an NHS GP or Endo can't take notice of an NHS hospital test result just because you paid for it.
