I've just had the results of recent blood tests - taken because I am getting tingling in hands and feet following covid. I had parathyroid surgery 2 years ago and the tingling feels like the Ca crash after that.
All marked normal of course. Can anybody advise on the folate and B12 result.
for completeness I've added in some of the other results but the TSH is useless as no free t3 or t4 was done and I am taking T3.
No D3 was done.
HbA1c 34mmol/mol (20-41)
TSH 1.46 mu/L (0.3-4.2)
ferritin 183ug/l (28-200)
serum B12 431 ng/l (180-640)
folate 6.9ug/l (3-20)
adjusted Ca 2.42 mmol/l (2.2-2.6)
phosphate 0.81 mmol/l (0.8-1.5)
Thyroid levels I will have to get a private test as I would have expected TSH to be lower given I am taking t3 (dose 100 t4 and 10 t3).
I am not supplementing anything at the moment nor prior to the test. I have some phosphate supplement and will restart that. The only thing that jumps out at me is the folate being low. Also the b12 range doesn't look right, I seem to remember recommendations on this forum that B12 be about 600-800 is that right?
Any comments gratefully received. Thanks

How long after covid did you take this test? The virus might be affecting your results. I believe you should leave 6-8 weeks to test thyroid levels after covid.
Both your B12 & folate are a little on the low side. I'd recommend a good active/methyl B complex to help keep all the B's in balance. This B complex has all the right vitamins at a not unreasonable cost for 90 days supply. amazon.co.uk/Liposomal-Soft...
Ferritin is good although you can get a false high if you have inflammation in your body.
I'd recommend testing vit D especially if you aren't on a D3 + K2 supplement.
Recommend retesting privately to see the FT4 & FT3 6-8 weeks after covid. Private tests are available, see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...
There is also a new company offering walk in & mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...
Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.
Thank you. GP ordered the tests hence no d3 nor t3 sigh. It was 4 weeks from when I came down with virus so I’ll leave the thyroid tests for a few weeks then. I’ve used medichecks in the past. I think the ferritin is falsely high given I’ve had virtually continual post menopausal bleeding for 18 months which has been investigated and I have a gynae appointment on Thursday no cause has been found. This bleeding started after my first bout of Covid.
