I was looking into apps and bluetooth enabled digital thermometers on another post. As I went further I came across this app ThyForlife, developed by a Canadian Thyroid Cancer survivor. It is still an ongoing and developing project. It sets out to enable the user to track a variety of thyroid-related health issues.
Here's the link if anyone's interested:
I went on as guest user for a few minutes after installing the app for free on my android phone.
It seems, for those who would want to, a potentially promising app for recording blood results, symptoms, supplements and perhaps more. I wanted to record temperatures and couldn't see that, so I sent a message which they replied to in about 30 minutes.
My message:
Hi there,
I would like to know if you can track your daily average temperature in the app?
And if you could please tell me which are the in-app purchases?
For example I live in the UK, want to record all my blood, urine and saliva results, supplements and temperatures, and be able to export the data to show to my GP.
Can this be done?
Their reply:
Thank you so much for reaching out with your questions!
Our app is still fairly new one we're still working very hard to improve on it so there are a number of features that are not yet live but we have them on our roadmap.
1. We already have them all caps (capabilities?) to track daily temperature and our team is currently developing the screens. It will take a little while longer until we're able to make it live as we're also adding other measurements such as bowel movements and heart rate.
2. Our app is completely free as it was developed by a thyroid cancer survivor Natalia and she is giving back to the community this way. Having said that, we are in the process of developing premium features that will be in addition to what the app offers today. It will be a wellness program designed for thyroid specifically but it will not interfere with the existing features we have today.
3. At the moment you are absolutely able to recall all your blood results. We never had any requests to include also urine and saliva results so if you would like to have those included I would need to pass it on to our Dev team. You can also already track all the supplements and medications you're taking and as mentioned the temperatures will be available very soon hopefully in September or October. The export data feature is definitely in the pipeline as well and will be available to all users to export and show the doctors.
We are a small team but we work very hard everyday to make the app experience even better so feel free to give us more suggestions or ways we can improve the app.
Your team at ThyForLife ❤️
That's as far as I've got. It would save me doing excel spreadsheets although my internal Adminstrator would be a bit sad. And I'm not sure about the Premium ie paid-for features...I would have to see exactly what you get for free before going for it.
