I recived some blood work in January 2023,on Roma T3 only (please note that I took my medication incorrectly I thought I was taking 10mg,10mg 20mg ...i had I fact been taking 5mg 5mg 10mg my mistake the capsules looked the same so did the boxes hence the results below🤦♀️)My results :... T3.. 3.7..(range.. 3.10..6.80
T4.. 2. 90..(range.. 11.00..22.00
TSH.. 6.25.(range..0.30..4.50...beside this result.. Serum TSH level (doctors name) OK for this patient 😯 so in effect they are saying this result eventho it's out of range by a good bit, it's OK for me... So when my TSH was 0.05 which it was before you started fooling around with my thyroid medication you had a fit... Why?... Why is it OK to have a TSH of 6.25 (out of range) but you get the knee jerk reaction when it goes below 0.05 as mine did.. You took me off T3 because of that result.
Do we ever as thyroid patients get the best care? I feel the specialist /gps looking after us just make it up as they go along hopping we don't notice😠 rant over.. 😁

I think they do make it up as they go along a lot of the time. But, they are terrified of a low TSH because they've been taught that it causes osteoporosis and heart attacks. They have not been taught the consequenses/implications of a TSH over the top of the range. They just have no idea. Basically, it is their education - or lack of it - at fault. They have also been taught that hypothyroidism is no big deal so they don't generally have the interest to look into it further than what they learnt in med school - most of which was totally wrong.
No, we never get the best of care in my experience.
