Hi I’m looking for some advice on my recent blood results please.

I followed all protocols for testing. On my last results I was advised by Slow Dragon to add in 25mg of levothyroxine twice a week ,which I did ,not really feeling as good as I did on my last dose which was 100mg of levothyroxine and 15mg of liothyronine ,split into 5mg doses throughout the day,I’m waking at 4am in the morning and can’t get back to sleep which is driving me crazy😤

My ferritin has gone down again so I’m going to start taking a vitamin c to see if that will help with iron absorption, started back on the Thorne b complex a few weeks ago taking one every two days.

15mg of liothyronine ,split into 5mg doses throughout the day,

What time are 3 doses

in week before test did you take a separate folate

Perhaps go back to previous Levo dose

Retest in 6/8 weeks

4am/12pm/8pm

No separate folate

I was advised that my T3 was low in last test and to try adding in another 5mg so do you think I should drop the levo back to 100 then wait 6 weeks and add in another 5mg of lio?

Yes

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg)

So wait six weeks after I start taking the extra 5mg of lio to retest , so all in 12 weeks before next test?

Thanks I’ll have a look at that.

Do you think I should just keep taking the extra levothyroxine and increase the liothyronine by 5mg first?

You could do

Hey there again :

If you felt better on the previous dose, why not go back there.

Could taking T3 late a night be why you are waking up at 4.00 am - or is there another reason why you can't settle back to sleep - some personal upset maybe ?

Everywhere I researched suggested that ferritin needs to be at least over 70 for any thyroid hormone replacement to work well - so are you reliant solely on more iron rich foods as that will take ages to build up to a decent level.

I see you have already been advised regarding the B vitamins.

I haven't any personal experience of dosing T3 and T4 - but think once on these two vital hormones it's more a question fine tuning rather than percentages.

You think I should take an iron supplement?

Well - it's likely the fastest way to get your ferritin up to over 70 :

Get an iron bisglycinate - commonly referred to as a Gentile Iron supplement as it is ' kinder ' on the stomach:
