Hi, I haven't posted here in a while. I would like to buy some thyroid s but I wouldn't want to get a weak batch. I haven't bought since last year, so I don't know how the market is doing, as I understand it has decreased in potency(last batch, I don't know the number is). maybe you can help me.

Thyroid - s batch potencies.
This is entirely based on what members have told me.
To be of any use in buying, you need to be sure which batch you are being offered. And someone needs to have tried it and/or received information about it. And someone has to be the first to try a new batch!
That is, it is of limited value. But it does allow retrospective checking and seeing if others agree with your personal view of a batch.

thanks, it really helps
Remember to let me know if there is information to add.
Hello Helvella, I had a bad experience with one of the batches you mention. Do you need my comments? And thank you for all your work. I had no idea that you had produced so much information.
I have always bought from the source, but a year ago I changed to Erfa, but it is too expensive and I have not bought it again. I had to switch to synthetic (tirosint &Thybon). I don't know why ndt is better for me than synthetic but still, I have to add a little levo in the mix. Only on ndt, ft4 falls below the limit and I gain weight.

There have been some comments about batch potency over the last year and we've been collecting the percentages of T4 and T3 in batches, where possible, to see if they correlate with the differences people are noting. The current batch being sold is 23T01001, and the only feedback on it that I have received is from someone who hadn't taken Thyroid-S before and who didn't get on with it. However that batch has now been sold for at least 7 weeks, and presumably someone taking it has started it and no-one else has commented in the places where I read. By now I would have expected someone to have mentioned colour or taste, if it was significantly different from usual. It's percentages are T4 104.9% and T3 98.3%, so weaker in T3 than some of the recent batches.
The manufacturers have made clear that each batch does differ and that patients need to adjust their dose for each batch. I don't think the discrepancies are new, and I've found comments about 'problem' batches going back several years. One thing now is that, with the price increases, many of us who used to buy Thyroid-S every few weeks, in small foil packs which would last a couple of months only, now buy in jars of 500 which last longer, so differences have become noticeable.
I estimate that a new batch is due to be sold soon and have asked for details about it, so I'll let you know what I hear.
