I’ve got 20/11/20 exp 20/11/23 batch and mine are okay !
I have that batch, have stayed with my previous dose (3 grains), and am doing well on them, I've been taking them for a couple of months. There have been some discussions in various groups about the new tablets tasting different and looking a bit different, but everyone I've heard of has been ok on them. A few need a lower dose and a few need a higher dose, but that could just be the individual's own health at the time.
I don't have that batch (have TA21011 exp30/01/24), but having been without any T-S for 18 months and having had to experiment with many other products in meantime, I'm now finding the new T-S supply is not the same.I am still having to increase dose, and also my legs and feet are swelling up again (despite never feeling well on the various glandulars I trialled over those months, one wonderful effect was that my legs lost fluid, and I had visible foot and ankle bones for the first time in years).
In the past I took 2 -2 1/2 grains of T-S, and could just swallow it. Now I'm up to 3 1/2 grains, have to let it dissolve in mouth and it seems so hard. I am otherwise feeling well on the new version, mentally clearer, my waking temperature is getting to 96+, but my lower legs have got swollen hard again and painful. Not sure whether the leg swelling is a sign of still being undermedicated or whether it's an adverse reaction to something. I will get new bloods done in a couple of weeks.
I sympathise - I thought all my thyroid troubles would be over when I got new T-S in April. So I'm now on 50% higher dose, and I suspect may need a little more. Now it's the careful stage of fine tuning. I did blood tests just before I started on TS again, and at that point I was definitely undermedicated using glandulars. It's only been 10 weeks, and I've been increasing dose from 2 grains now to 3 1/2.Re weight - my partner kindly😕 points out that I'm not a size 14 any more 😟! I think some of my weight increase was fluid related, and I'm hoping that will settle when I get everything optimal.
How's your temperature? Mine got very low - in the 34s at times. As my temperature is getting better, I hope the improved metabolism will help with weight too.
I guess new T-S takes an adjustment period.
Good luck.
Glandulars are trash
I bought some of this batch, but they were sold as 100 tablet batches, the seller had split a bottle into 100 tablet batches to sell off separately during the recent Thyroid-S shortage.
I was a little paranoid about them at first, because as you say, the colour looked a bit different to normal, so I was concerned they'd gone off as they'd been taken out of the original bottle. But, I've taken 400 tablets from that batch, and they seem to be working just fine.
I've now moved onto a newer batch, with expiry date of 30/01/24. I'm a little worried about them now, as I hate having to move onto a different batch of tablets - although maybe I shouldn't be so paranoid, as I haven't had any batch-related problems in the past!
Crazy_CatLady (me too ) I've always worried about switching to a new batch so I start before finishing the old batch, and by substituting half a grain for a few days, then 1 grain, and continue like that over a few weeks until I've switched completely. It gives me time to know if something is wrong, supposedly! The latest ones to arrive have an expiry of 17/02/24 so I'll be worrying all over again now...
