I have auto immune thyroiditis , with shrivelled thyroiditis on ultrasound with the giraffe like markings is it and high antibodies . So sorry If I got this wrong . But seemed to tie with ords disease . I have had it for 13 years. I have been coughing for over 3 months. With my voice becoming intermittently affected over 5 months say . The cough has now phlegm that I have to cough excessively to clear . No signs of infection in bloods or temperature . I feel tireder . My neck aches . Not noticed swelling . I have had a chest xray and basic bloods . Tsh has gone up lately . I am on liothyronine only . I have had renal profile bloods and full blood count lately all normal . T3 in range . Tsh usually suppressed has gone to just at top of normal range .

Have you changed anything lately like adding new meds or the way you take your T3? It may just be that you need more T3.

Tsh has gone up lately .

This would usually indicate that you need more thyroid hormone.

What were your latest results and when did you take your last dose of T3 before the test?

What supplements are you taking and what were your latest vitamin results for ferritin, folate, B12 & D3?

It's ideal if you can always get the same brand of T3 at every prescription. You can do this by getting GP to write the brand you prefer in the first line of the prescription. Many people find that different brands are not interchangeable.

I have to say that if I am under replaced and my FT3 too low for me then I can't clear my chest and have to cough a lot.

Its best to always get the same brand and then you know where you're at with symptoms.

If you have some results to share then we can help you further. Thyroid and vitamins.

Which brand of T3 were you taking before

Which brand now

Many members don’t get on well with Roma capsules

How much T3 per day

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12, especially as likely under medicated

Thyroid cancer is diagnosed by specific appearances of nodules and biopsy. There is rarely any change or difference in thyroid hormone levels - i.e. if you levels are low because of Hashimoto's or high due to Graves, that likely won't change. The great majority of people treated for thyroid cancer had no symptoms prior to finding a nodule on a neck check by self or doctor or something showing up "incidentally" on imaging done for something else (my thyroid cancer was found on a PET scan for lung cancer).

The "giraffe" pattern (pseudo nodules) noted in Hashimoto's are (according to radiopaedia.org/articles/gi... is benign but problem nodules should be visible if they are present.

The advice already given on vitamins and T3 level testing is probably what's needed.
