Can anyone recommend good sources of information on the connection between hypothyroidism, recurrent cystitis and histamine/oxalate intolerance or possibly MCAS?
I have had recurrent cystitis for many years, but in the past 2 years, it has become unbearable and I can be on antibiotics for weeks on end (now in week 3 of the current bout and 2 different types of antibiotics).
In my last post, I described how severe my histamine intolerance has become while I trialled a return to Armour for 6 weeks. I was on Ndt for 7 years (various brands) with no problems. I returned to the NHS way 2 years ago and was prescribed combination levothyroxine and liothyronine by my endo. But however high my doses go, I remain symptomatic, my cystitis recurs like crazy and so I tried privately a return to Ndt.
Now I have recurrent cystitis, very unpleasant (and sometimes scary) histamine intolerance and symptoms and just don't know what to do next.
Anyone who can point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

This depends how far upstream and to the root causes that you want to go. There are many who say histamine intolerance and even MCAS are not really diagnoses but symptoms of parasites, moulds, EMT and toxic metals and toxicants. Sinclair Kennaly is a great resource. I don't know about cystitis but she definitely brings together the above issues.

And she managed to completely reverse her own hypothyroidism but addressing the above issues.
also check out Dr Becky Campbell’s website. Intestinal permeability (leaky gut) is def at root cause of Hashimotos and histamine intolerance. So getting your gut sorted is definitely a priority
Thank you so much for such helpful replies. I bought Becky Campbell's 4 phase reset book yesterday, to make a start. Haven't heard of Sinclair Kennaly, so I'll get Googling. Thank you again 🌝
Sinclair is amazing..... a real authority on mould, Lyme, parasites, gut etc. Plus she's lived it and recovered. She has very interesting posts on instagram. Good luck 🙂
yes! If you’ve got any mercury in your mouth get it out! But make sure it’s with a dentist who I properly trained in safe removal. Huge link between amalgam fillings and hashimotos
if you have any and get them removed the dentist needs to be trained in SMART removal. I knew someone whose hashimotos was triggered by improper removal of mercury fillings. But the good news is that they managed to reversed it all by detoxing properly from it
Sinclair's company is called detoxrejeuvanation. She includes many things in her protocols that in my experience many functional practitioners miss. Particularly the importance of mitochondrial support, NS regulation and ensuring detox pathways are open before attempting any detox. Many practitioners miss some of these and its no wonder people end up keep recirculating toxins and not getting better.
Thank you so much for the recommendation. I looked on the website, and she describes so perfectly the feeling of sitting in agony in front of the keyboard searching for an answer.... as I dread another night in pain without sleep...
