What blood tests should I ask for ?

Apart from the TSH T3 and T4 what blood tests should I ask my gp for I am experiencing a lot of pain in my joints and muscles I have osteoporosis in spine hip and knee take thyroxine and liothyronine havent seen the endo for a while but thought if I could get all bloods done through gp and then go to see endo I am going to ask for a new dexa scan and referral to rheumatology but not sure what bloods I should ask for thank you

You need vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 levels tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Book all thyroid tests for early morning, ideally just be 9am, only drink water between waking and test

Last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Day before test ALWAYS split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approx 8-12 hours before test

How much levothyroxine and T3 are you taking

Do you always get same brands at each prescription

As your hypothyroidism is autoimmune (after being hyperthyroid) …are you on strictly gluten free diet and/or dairy free diet

If not gluten free yet and not had coeliac test request this is tested too

Wow that was pretty quick for a slowdragon thank you for the info I take 150 levo and 60 t3 always Morningside t3 half before bed half on waking no diet restrictions as trying to loose weight and that's hard enough thank you to everyone on this site I have had so much brilliant help from you guys over the years

day before test split as 20mcg waking, 20mcg mid afternoon and 20mcg 10pm

if taking any supplements that contain biotin stop these 5-7 days before all tests

come back with new post once you get results
