Pregnancy and t3 only

Hi

I am on 40mcg of T3 for underactive thyroid. I live in Scotland but my endocrinologist is in Oxford. I am trying for a baby and my GP raised concerns about me being on T3 if I become pregnant. I am now very nervous. Iv tried to research this and there is so much conflicting information.

I do not convert well hence the T3 only.

Would this be safe for pregnancy or should I change my path of treatment now as I am confused. I had fertility issues that are now resolved hopefully from treating the thyroid and with LDN.

My next appointment with endo is not until mid July but I'd like other opinions also.

Should I go on some combination therapy of t4/T3 or just remain as is as I am worried to change anything?

Apologies for asking but I am so untrusting of all medical providers that I trust real life opinions much much more.

Thanks

Do you always get same brand T3 at each prescription

Some endocrinologist prefer you to add some levothyroxine in as well for pregnancy

Can you tolerate any levothyroxine

What were your most recent TSH, Ft4 and Ft3

Presumably you have Hashimoto’s

Are you gluten free/dairy free

When did you last test vitamin levels

Obviously you need OPTIMAL vitamin levels before TTC

Vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin need testing

Yes I have been on the same liquid version of T3 from roseway labs from I began treatment in November. I believe my endocrinologist may want me to start tirosint also but I am seeing if there is an NHS alternative I can get as paying for both these prescriptions is quite expensive but I am happy to pay for T3 but couldn't afford it and the tirosint.

I just wasn't sure if pure T3 was allowed during pregnancy and got nervous as I don't want to change my meds if I do become pregnant. My GP thought it wasn't allowed during pregnancy???

Yes gluten and dairy free for over 10 years. I follow AIP diet. My antibodies where all low and thyroid scan so I do not think hasimotos. I am also on Low Dose Naltroxene.

Vitamin D, folate, b12 where all on the upper scale however ferratin still sitting low despite taking chicken livers and an iron tablet a few times a week.

I have gastric issues which I believe is affecting my absorbtion. I am not anemic, I just have low ferratin (sitting at 30 with value between 15-140). Not really sure what to do about it as my GI doesn't take it seriously as it is above the minimum range requirement. I take it with vitamin C also for absorbtion.

Thanks

There are several members who have had successful pregnancy on levothyroxine plus T3

And I think possibly at least one member who have had pregnancy on only T3

TSH 0.09 (0.2-5)Ft4 3 (8-28)

Total T3 1.8 (1.3-3.1)

Last free T3 was 3.5 (3.1-6.8) but this was done in January as they keep not testing my ft3 only total T3 which my endocrinologist said was ok.
