Hi all, I'm just wondering do those of you on T3 only medication still have lots of fatigue daily?
I'm due ti do my bloods again next week but this fatigue has been going on for a while now. Im trying to avoid the thyroid tunnel vision that I've been in since my diagnosis of hypothyroidism and hashimoto's but some last bloods showed low platelets and high TIBC. My dose if T3 hasn't changed but my fatigue has.

I take T3 only and have no fatique and I feel well and am symptom-free. That's not to say everyone who takes T3 will have the same experience.
Maybe you need a small increase of T3. Have you had a recent blood test? If not I would request one and I think you know always to get the earliest test, fasting and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose and test?
I hope they check your Free T3 and Free T4 and I'm not sure the medical professionals are aware that T3 is the active thyroid hormone needed in our millions of T3 receptor cells.
As you are not taking levothyroxine, your T4 will be low. As you are taking T3 alone, I would think it should be nearer the upper part of the ranges. I will also state I'm not medically qualified but have treated myself for a long time. I now have a new GP who I hope is helpful.
Yes I probably need an increase in t3 to push it into the upper range. Thanks again shaws. Di you take all of your t3 in one dose? I'm currently taking 50 t3 in 3 split doses but im wondering if taking it in one dose might flood my body to get it into my cells better. Have you tried this?
I follow the method that Dr John Lowe recommended. He was a doctor/scientist/researcher and an expert in the use of T3. He was also an Adviser to TUK.
He himself took a large dose of T3 in the middle of the night when he awoke to go to the toilet.
He stated that one dose of T3 saturated all of the T3 receptor cells and its effect could last between one to three days. I trialled this and took my one daily dose, took none on day two and three. I felt the same which is symptom-free and well. I have recently reduced my dose of T3 and stll feel well.
Thats amazing to hear! I currently take 50 split 3 times a day but I was afraid that if I take it in one go that my heart would start racing etc due to too much at one time. Can this happen? Or if I'm already taking 50 a day it won't as my body is used to it?
There's no need to be nervous, I believe Dr Lowe took 150 mcg of T3. as he had 'thyroid hormone resistance' and he was an 'authority' in prescribing T3 or NDT for his patients. He would never, ever prescribe levothyroxine.
I had very severe palpitations but T3 resolved them and my heart calmed.
Thats very reassuring to hear shaws. Thank you. I like you have regular palps until starting t3. I think ill bite the bullet tomorrow morning and take my t3 in one dose!
Yeah I had to keep raising my T3 dose to get over 6. My Endo isn’t happy with me but it’s made a huge difference. I’m now able and willing to make plans to go out in the evening when for years I just didn’t have the energy.
Thats my life currently, I don't make plans as I don't have the energy to go out. Im thinking I may need to up my dose. Can I ask how much t3 your taking and do you split the doses or take it in one go?
Thanks JAmanda. Im wondering if I need some t4 to balance it all out! Its frustrating trying to feel well again. I see a private doc every 3 months but feeling unwell in-between appointments is not very nice.
