Am I overmedicated?

I'm due to have doctor blood tests next week but had an at home kit going out of date so tested on Tuesday 8.30am, 26 hours after last levo dose. (This is 5 weeks, 6 days on the current 75mcg)Have been consistently taking Accord brand.

No symtoms of overmedication other than Iv been getting a pulsing in my right eye which iv had before last year but it went away when I started taking magnesium but came back again in last couple of weeks despite still taking magnesium.

Also been struggling to lose weight despite eating very healthy and exercising regularly.

Results:

TSH 0.054 (0.35 - 5.5)

FT4. 23.9 (11.9 - 21.6)

FT3 3.95 (2.8 - 6.5)

Thanks! :)

You probably can't lose weight because your FT3 is much too low. You are a poor converter, and that's why your FT4 is over-range.

Have you had your vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin tested? Low nutrient levels can cause poor conversion.

Hi greygoose, thank you for your reply. My last bloods checking those was in March and iv been trying to increase ferritin through diet and take igennus b complex and better you vitamin d+k2 spray daily. Also either take selenium or eat 2 brazil nuts (but not both in same day)

23.03.2023

Ferritin 58.6 (10 - 120)

B12. 689 ( 197 - 771)

Folate 15.8 (3.8 - 26.8)

Vitamin d 59 sufficient

I'm expecting doctor will reduce my dose back down to 50mcg next week? Any advice on next steps? Thanks again!

Yes, he probably will want to reduce your dose, but if he does, your FT3 will probably drop further, and you'll feel even worse. Doctors don't understand about conversion. But, what you need is some T3 added to your levo. Have you asked to see an endo?

No but I could ask next week to be referred if he reduces my dose. I know t3 is hard to get hold of. Il put a post asking for consultant recommendations near me (N. Ireland)Thank you :)
