anxiety and cortisol

Does anyone know if anxiety/cortisol can increase T4 to being too high (24), when TSH is high (4.6) and T3 a little low?

I have all the symptoms of too much thyroxine, but I also have some symptoms of not enough and I am really struggling. It looks like I will have to start some anxiety medication. I so wanted to get the thyroid right and the anxiety would sort itself, but maybe it’s the other way round?

Having too much cortisol is likely to reduce TSH. And if TSH is too low it follows that T4 and T3 will be reduced too. See these links :

HB = Humanbean.

I was replying to humanbean to let her know I'd sent her a PM (in case she didn't get notification of it, as it was an important one).

You have received notification of it because this is your thread so you get notification of every post made here but you can see that my post says

I have found being both hypo and hyper can cause anxiety. Your TSH results suggest you are hypo but you have a lot of T4- possibly you’re not converting to T3 which might explain anxiety.

Do you have T3 results ?

these were my results 3/4 weeks ago

I feel like it’s the lack of converting that is the problem. I have severe anxiety so maybe that is affecting it? The gps refuse to refer me to an endocrinologist and say it’s all anxiety and that needs to be addressed first, even though I have given them this result.

I feel like I need more t3 as my body is really not functioning properly and I have so many symptoms. I feel so unwell.

yes I think you’re right you are probably a poor converter of T4 to T3.

You could try to improve your vitamins eg B12 and folic acid (folate) levels need to be upper end of range.

Your vitamin D seems low. You could try to improve that. I think around 100 nmol/l is better.
