From 15p to 21p per tab, possible alternative to the elusive Thorne Basic B?

EDIT... I tried it and it dropped my B6 very low 😕

Yes it's good stuff. I would be buying it myself if I hadn't stockpiled cheap Thorne Basic B when it was on offer. It's the one I often recommend as is a great price.

That's good to know thanks, I've just come to the end of my stock 🤗

This seemed pretty good at around £15 a pot if buying 4

These are my standard recommendations. Take your pick. 🙂

Pink Tribe it is... they seem identical to Yipmai but 25% cheaper

Ooh! That’s useful to know! Thanks. I usually get the Yipmai ones which are very good. I used to get the Igennus tablets but I think they added Vit C to them which counteracted the B12 and I couldn’t swallow the huge Thorne capsules.

I like that they offer a discount for multiples, always like to keep the drawer stocked rather than have to constantly research and order after each bottle

Think these might be Chinese too... just a hunch 😶

Someone just challenged me on where they were made and it does say on the Amazon listing that they are made in the UK!

That's odd then as it says supplied by Eyou Life Inc with the above address??

Perhaps the ingredients are supplied from China but its manufactured in the UK? Probably a pretty common thing.

TiggerMe in reply to Jaydee1507

Maybe... suspicious that it's exactly the same as Yipmai....

TBH we have very little clue what is in any of these things really, do we 🤷‍♀️

All just words really... 🙃

It's difficult in that there are only a few products that fit the bill dose and vitamin wise. Thorne is obviously a great product but we are also in the midst of a cost of living crisis. It makes me feel better that the Pink Tribe is at least manufactured in the UK so whatever does go in to it, wherever it comes from will be regulated. Shame its not vegetarian/vegan though. Now I better work out which one of the list is...

Just watched 🍄's clip about B12 and 90% of it is produced in China 😬

Jaydee1507 profile image

Thats B12 though and I am assuming that to market it in this country it is regulated.

It's more the thought that the world is so reliant on China providing... we already have enough leaders who act like they are deficient 🤣

I've been buying Yipmai which I think are very good so it's good to know that your's work out cheaper - it all helps so thank you.

All the suggested recommendations contain Pyridoxine hydrochloride as B6 though

Well observed:

helvella - Vitamers of Vitamin B6

Some time ago, I mentioned that the form in which we take vitamin B6 is important. I think I linked to this paper:

A long time ago I purchased the Pink Tribe Liposomal Vitamin B Complex and then realised it contained Pyridoxine hydrochloride so I 'dumped them' and bought Thorne B Complex which contains the correct P5P formula 👍

I do have the Cestfilo Liposomal Magnesium 2200mg softgels which I 'think' may be ok......Also, Thorne Citramate which contains Dimagnesium Malate and Citrate

I have the Thorne K2/MK4 drops also which were very expensive to start with...Trouble is I think they have 'gone off' during the heatwave we had at the Beginning of September. The only other Vitamin K2/MK7 I have is the Life extension K2/MK7 45mcg

Yes, I ditched the liposomal having found my B6 is low, using separate B's to address this and then I might alternate between Thorne and Igennus 🤷‍♀️

Are they powder in capsule, like Thorne?

Presumably if yes, it’s possible to open capsule to get powder out if can’t swallow large capsules

Fully incapsulated but those slippery little devils by the looks of them 🤗

I’ve ordered these too, supposed to arrive today.

Good to hear they’re decent quality. 🙂 Thanks Eeyore and Jaydee.

It might be good to note: They are not vegetarian.

)I don’t know if the B Thorne ones are.)
