Good B Complex: Can anyone recommend a good B... - Thyroid UK
Good B Complex
The 2 brands I tend to use are Solgar and Troo. Both do good quality supplements free from most allergens. Both available on well known shopping site
Thorne Research B Complex is the one I use - which I buy on-line.
Hi Marz
Marigold22 mentioned that one but it has 400mcg B12 in it and I supplement 1000mcg separately, unless I halve my tablet?
No need to do that - you cannot overdose on B12 - you would only pee out any excess your body does not need. 1400mcg would be a pretty conservative dose.

When I started supplementing some months ago with B12, I only took it for two weeks and it bumped my levels up from around 340 to 828. I seem to be sensitive to doses of stuff for it to act that quickly? I have so many other supps to add that Dr Clark wants me to have for my gut and autoimmune inflammation, I don't know to fit it all in

What about this one?

I take that one, so far so good.

the Jarrow one ?
Yep that's the one. I was also taking Jarrow Formulas, Methyl B-12, Cherry Flavor, 5000 mcg, and it helped raise a bit but not enough so now I am on b12 injections. R x

I am on 1000mcg Methyl B12 as well and it raised mine from around 300 to 828 in two weeks!!!!!!!!!
wow thats amazing..... just a note, I could be wrong, but I think that in order to get a 'real' reading of b12 in your blood you need to stop supplementing for 4 months before testing. I think that can give false levels.

not that I am aware of hon
sorry I meant weeks, not months.

No, you were right first time, four months. Tested at the same time as supplementing doesn't give you a true reading, so Jefner, I doubt you actually have a level of 828. And even if you go over 1000, it doesn't matter. 1000 mcg B12 is just a maintenance dose. So, stay on that, and take the Jarrow's B complex at the same time - it's a good one.
The one you were taking before probably didn't give you any B vits at all, and that's why your folate was going down. It was brewer's yeast. And the was a post on here a weeks or so ago, saying that contrary to popular opinion, there are no B vits in Brewer's yeast. Can't remember who posted it, though... Besides, it says in the ingredients, that it was Folic Acid, not methylfolate, which isn't good. Plus, it contained cyanocobalamin, not methylcobalamin, which is really not a good thing to take.

thanks honey for clarifying....so much to learn even about vits and I certainly didn't know that about B12.
When is the best time to take the bcomplex as I have heard it can make some people wired
