I'll never forget (a few years back now, I was early 30's) going to my GP as I was having problems with my periods. When I said I was concerned I could be having an early menopause/perimenopause his response was...."what do you want me to do about it...if you're going through the menopause you're going through the menopause...!
I was slightly stunned. He wasn't an older GP so I thought I'd be offered blood tests...nope.
A surgeon in my town was discovered to have been sewing his initials into the organs of his patients before closing them up… takes a special kind of ego to do such a thing…

I think it's marginally better than 'No wonder you're depressed. Get a better job'
(I hadn't reported being unhappy with my job, or feeling depressed. I still don't know how thyroid results got mixed up with my job. I had really bad brain fog and kept going over the conversation wondering how it got there).
