I’ve been booked in for an iron studies test for next week as I was worried about my ferritin of 48 I had done last week. I’m concerned after reading with high thyroid auto antibodies which I’ve just found out I have, my ferritin should be over 100. My doctor booked me in for 11.25 am next weds and said I don’t need to fast. I’ve read online you do and they have an appointment at 8.15 am tomorrow I could have instead. Do you need to fast before iron tests? Would I be better waiting an extra week to have the test as I only had my ferritin tested on the 8th May?

Call the lab and ask?
I don't know if the need (or desirability) to fast is the same across all testing machines.
