Help interpreting my blood results please!

Following a blood test in February my GP told me to drop the 100mcg to 75mcg as I was 'overmedicated' I have found it increasingly hard to lose any weight at all, and have been tired and listless,so I bought a Medichecks test and these are the results.

19 Apr 2023 TSH 7.69mIU/L 0.27 - 4.2  Abnormal

19 Apr 2023 FREE THYROXINE 13.1pmol/L 12 - 22  low

19 Apr 2023 THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES 52.1kIU/L 0 - 34  Abnormal

19 Apr 2023 VITAMIN D 179nmol/L 50 - 250 OK

I was due my B12 which I had last week, I take folic acid, 200mcg(?) Vit D, (and iron occasionally)

I sent the results to my GP (they were ignored when I had my phone 'consult') and I had another blood test last week, and in spite of my request to test T3 and T4 only the TSH was done.

03 May 2023 Serum TSH level9.38 mIU/L0.35 - 4.94 Abnormal

3 May 2023Serum ferritin45 ng/mL20 - 204 Normal

3 May 2023 vitamin B12587 pg/mL187 - 883 Normal

3 May 2023 transferrin2.99 g/L2.0 - 3.2 Normal

I've now been told to take 100mcg 4 times a week alternating with 75mcg in between.I read that a normal dose is 1.6mcg per kg body weight, and mine is creeping up all the time but I have small appetite and usually eat twice a day. Apologies for the long post, but any light shed would be gratefully received!!

You had a lot of very good advice on your previous thread a few weeks back. healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Did you ask GP about the iron panel? If not you could probably do an eConsult for that. WE have to be ever more creative in ways of contacting our GPs as even getting through to them on the phone can be impossible at times.

How much do you weigh?

Insist on 25mcg dose increase immediately

On levothyroxine TSH should always be below 2

Most people when adequately treated will have Ft4 at least 70-80% through range and Ft3 at least 50-60% through range

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking on 75mcg

Which brand was 100mcg

TPO antibodies indicates cause of your hypothyroidism is autoimmune also called Hashimoto’s

Perhaps in February you had temporary hashimoto’s flare.

You’re now very hypothyroid

Ferritin was deficient In April

Have you been working on improving by increasing iron rich foods in your diet
