Hi. Someone I know in South Wales needs private blood testing for TSH, FT4, FT3, vit D, B12, Ferritin, and Folate. Of the companies listed here - thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp... - does anyone have advice as to which one to go for? Also, are the finger prick tests as good as the 'needle in the arm' tests, or not?

Finger prick tests are just as good as a full blood draw although for folate there can be a high failure rate if using a finger prick test.
Tell them to allow plenty of time to get well hydrated, say an hour and a half or two, before they test.
Results from Monitor My Health -- an NHS lab -- may be more acceptable to a GP.
To be on common ground in some circumstances, the results' units may need converting, for which unitslab.com is a useful resource.
