I have started a trial combination of Levothyroxine and Liothyronine and just wondered how quickly I could expect to see an improvement in symptoms? Thank you in advance

It probably depends on what your endo has done. What were your FT4 and FT3 levels before adding T3 (results + ranges)? Has your Levo been reduced? How much T3 have you started on and what is the plan for increasing?

My TSH is 0.17, T4 is 24.6 and T3 is 4.2. My Levothyroxine has been deceased to 125 from 150 for 5 days and 125 for 2 days) and I am taking 10 microgram once a day.

Can you add actual results and ranges of vitamin results

Did you start on 10mcg T3

Or did you initially only add 5mcg

Have you tried splitting the T3 as 2 x 5mcg

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after any dose change

I started on 10 mcg. I haven't thought of splitting the tablet.

Generally recommended to start on only 5mcg and increase slowly

But as you’re on 10mcg now, stick on it

Which size tablet T3 are you prescribed

20mcg

So you can cut into 1/4’s - 5mcg

Personally I found I felt better within 24 hours, but I think my body was crying out for T3. The Endo wanted me on 450 T4 to try and get my T3 up which was below the bottom limit. I refused and asked my GP to "trial" T3 and he agreed (this was years ago!)

I did not know about conversion rates then, and obviously the Endo did not either! Within a week I felt human.

We are all different, but I hope you feel better soon.
