Hi all. Had a great appointment with NHS endo who agreed to prescribe T3 on NHS. I have been taking T3 - Tybon Henning for approx 2 years. I havent started my Morningside yet due to calling the manufacturer and finding out that it has Acacia in it. I previously had a problem (quite severe) with Levo by Teva and that has Acacia in it. Not saying that they caused the problems and terrible side effects, but I am nerveous. Just wondered if anyone had switched and had any experience? I can't see what other filler is common in both Teva Levo and Morningside T3 that could cause the problem. Don't know what to do really. I am continuing with Tybon Henning for now. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all.

I am not sure to be honest. I know I've had adverse reaction to Acacia in other foods etc. The side effects I got with Teva were muscle related to the point that I could not walk very far etc. and a feeling of illness and Hypo symptoms. Maybe it's worth a shot taking them then! Thanks
None. I haven't taken any other. I take Almus Accord Levo and Thybon Henning Lio. Haven't changed either in years. Just very aware of what can happen with different manufacturers.
It's not necessarily the manufacturer, many people are fine with Teva in different formulations such as liquid levo & T3, its the excipients they use that are the issue.
I would say to try it if you're OK with lactose which is in your Levo at the moment anyway.
I took Thybon Henning to start with, and I now take Morningside Liothyronine and don't have any problems with it. I was very sensitive to brands of Levothyroxine, and was prescribed Morningside brand of Liothyronine, as I was diagnosed with Celiac disease around the same time.
That’s very reassuring. I’ve started at lunchtime today - certainly felt more amped than normal but that might just be my brain messing with me! Thank you 🙏🏻
Hopefully you will be fine and it is worrying to start with when you change brands. I didn't think it would be as good as the Thybon Henning but it has been
KillashandraRee, I was made very ill by TEVA levothyroxine because of the acacia powder. I have a number of food intolerances and since the TEVA issue I have always taken Almus/Actavis levothyroxine. When I was finally allowed to have T3 on NHS I researched the different brands, looking at the fillers. I started on Thybon Henning and was fine with that and also with Uni Pharma. I now take Sigma Pharma liothyronine. It originally came from USA but is now made in UK. It does contain mannitol, but NO acacia powder. It has been the best Lio for me.
My scrips specify the Actavis/Almus brand and the Sigma Pharma brand. If you have difficulties with SP Lio, mine comes from Springfield Pharmacy. It is sent in the post.
KillashandraRee, be aware it is more expensive than ones usually prescribed by NHS but all prices have come down quite a bit. i am lucky to live in an area with an Endo who approved T3 and with GPs who recognise my intolerances, originally diagnosed by an NHS allergy consultant after following an elimination diet some 20 years ago. I am now wary of honey unless it is specifically noted which flowers/blossoms might be visited by honey bees.
Hi, same happened to me, I tried Morningside Liothyronine when I transferred from private prescription to gp prescription on NHS. It didn't agree with me, joint pain almost immediately, so went back to Thybon Henning, then improved. Disappointed having to pay when I was offered NHS prescription but Morningside didn't help me at all. Hope it works for you. All the best.
Sorry to hear that. I took 3 Morningside and have switched back, I can’t risk it. Have called GP surgery and requested Sigma. Who knows what will happen….
