In an attempt to find out what was causing my health abnormalities, I had my thyroid checked quite some time ago. And everything looked okay to be honest. I do not have the results at present, however, the TSH was 3.3 and the T4 was at the very top of the range. I had this tested a couple of times and it always came back normal. After doing some research, I learned that it's possible to have insufficient thyroid even with normal tests. So I experimented with a couple of different natural thyroids at home, with no effect what so ever. No difference in body temperature, or anything else I was having problems with. After trying EVERY diet imaginable, NDT, exercise, supplements, I didn't know what else to do. I had other blood work done in the past too and that was okay, (iron, vitamin D, cholesterol, etc) - sorry I don't have the specifics of everything I had tested but the doctor had to take a lot of blood, so I know they tested a fair bit, and it was all normal.
Sorry for the longer post but I just wanted to add a little context in case anyone can relate.
Some of my symptoms are:
-Raynauds, low body temperature (usually less than <36c upon waking. Normal throughout the day, but my hands and feet are usually always cold, even with normal daytime temps. (waking temps are never above 36.) usually 35.8.
-When I stand up, I feel blood rushing to my head and feel dizzy. Not always, but more than >60% of the time. When I spent some time in hospital, they sometimes told me my blood pressure was low when checking my obs.
-Strong salt & sugar cravings. When eating, I usually do 40-50 twists of the salt on my food, and I completely cover everything in it, but I understand this could just be me liking salt too much. And I usually need 8 teaspoons of sugar in my drinks for me to enjoy them. But again, I know this could just be an unhealthy habit. I get that, I just mention it because the cravings are hard to deal with sometimes.
-Heart palpitations. Which give me a lot of anxiety. Because it feels like my heart is stopping for a second and then I feel a thud. Or skipping a beat. This varies between days but they are often frequent.
- Bloated face. One side of my face looks fatter than the other, but I noticed a normal slim looking face the other night after consuming a really salty OJ before bed. So I know it isn't actual fat. It's not really severe, but I do feel a little self conscious about my 'chubby' face when it looks big. Changes day to day.
- Hair loss. I'd attach pictures but I don't want to gross anyone out. However, after a shower the soap bar I use has clumps of my hair on it. And it blocks the plug requiring me to clean it often.
- Brain fog. I don't know if this is the right word. But some days I feel like I have dementia. I walk into a room and forget why I'm there. And this happens all the time. My memory is nothing like what it use to be. I forget the most basic things really often, and I just know my head isn't what it use to be. I never remember having this issue in my teens. (I'm 24 now).
Sorry the post went on so long. I know I should probably see a doctor again. I just honestly think they'll send me away. I never mentioned a lot of these issues when I was at the doctors since appointments are really short, I just said I wasn't feeling great. They already ran a bunch of tests and it looks like everything is okay, but I don't feel that way. I would really appreciate any advice, or suggestions. I am open to trying anything at all. Thank you so much.

A TSH of 3.3 is not OK. It's too high. The TSH of a person with no thyroid issues - euthyroid - is around 1, never over 2, and you are hypo when your TSH reaches 3. But you will never get an NHS doctor who knows that.
Salt craving probably means that your adrenals are struggling. The adrenals need a lot of salt.
What you need is full thyroid testing:
TSH
FT4
FT3
TPO antibodies
Tg antibodies
vit D
vit B12
folate
ferritin
But doubtful you will get all that from your doctor. Most people have to go private to get all those results. Details of private testing here:
I have ordered a basic health screen from monitormyhealth since thats all I can really afford right now, but I will absolutely ring my doctors next week and try get my recent blood results as they are only a few months old.
Yeah, I see where you're coming from regarding the TSH. If this is my problem, do you have any idea why the NDT I tried didn't help? Or is that why you recommended I check the other bloods first? I just ask because I slowly, over the course of several months, arrived at a dose of 3 grains if I recall correctly before I gave up. Possibly 4 grains. My waking temperature never budged from 35.6 - 35.8 usually. I tried two different types of NDT back then. And never felt anything. I honestly felt I was taking sugar pills.
Regarding the adrenals, I did actually get a saliva cortisol test a couple of years ago and I tested it 3x in one day. The only cortisol reading that came back as high, was the one around midday. I will try my best to see if I can recover some old results, its just hard since my old email was deleted
Before I made this post, a couple of days ago, I bought a basic health screen from monitormyhealth which includes D, cholesterol and Thyroid. Thank you so much. If I rang my doctors next week when they're open, should I add my results to this thread? As I say, they took a lot blood from me. And this was only 3-4 months ago, so fairly recent.
Have you been tested for adrenal dysfunction? Cushings Syndrome? Having a round face or Moon Face and some of the other symptoms you’ve described can be indicative of this.
This blood test is from 2020 but it looks like I don't have cushings. I have read online how adrenals can cause some of the issues I have but according to this they're fine. Weird though because like I say, even on 3-4 grains of thyroid a few years back my temps didnt really increase, nor did i feel different. Brain fog has been awful lately!
Below is a lightshot of my medichecks blood work from 2020:
