I just wanted to update you all on the Devon Thyroid Group which now has 210 members!
Ive recently changed the name to Devon and South West England Thyroid Support Group so please feel free to join if you live in the South West area!
I am also particularly keen to hear from those of you who are under the Royal Devon and Exeter Endocrinology Team or Plymouth and Torbay, and limited to 10mcg of T3 a day.
All will be welcome as well as undiagnosed who think they may have a thyroid problem, and cant get their dr or endocrinologist to agree treatment. Here is the link:
I agree Legoparis. I am not a fan of Facebook at all and have never got involved with it but would very much like to be a member. I don’t know of anyone near me with thyroid issues either!
I am about 7miles west of Okehampton. I do not use Facebook and do not want to. I realise many are comfortable with it but not me. Would love to be in touch with others in this region though!
Thank you Legoparis Ill put my thinking cap on. Ive looked at forums but their not that straghtforward either. I never was a great fan of FB and its certainly been a learning curve from my point of view!Id be pleased to hear any other ideas/suggestions you may have.
JaneChapple, There are some very knowledgeable people on the group.'
Hopefully those very knowledgeable people are also participating here on this forum, for the benefit of the wider UK thyroid community, and for those who would prefer to avoid Facebook?
Yes they are RedApple. Ive thought about setting up a forum before but it doesnt seem straightforward from what Ive read, but then again FB has been a pain in the butt today and its not my favourite communication tool either at times!🙂❤
Would you consider a website? If only to post information. I don't have FB either but I'd be keen to get involved in a local group if I could.
