Have Some Hope

You know my story by now - undermedicated for years; 2 years all but stuck in bed; then 2 years of altering combo doses settling on 2 x 50mcg levo and 5mcg and 2.5mcg lio, TSH undetectable, ft4 lowest measure 50%, ft3 average measure 72%; then 18 months so far of improvements.

Well today I am crawling around the bathroom floor muttering "SMOOTH".

Have I lost my senses? Probably never had any to lose so don't worry on that score.

What has got into me?

I am decorating!!!! Yes I have the energy and drive to prepare and paint a small bathroom if I take it slowly and don't try to do it in one go.

Ceiling is finished. Today is gloss paint day. I hate gloss paint. And why are skirting boards so low down? So I'm crawling on the floor saying "Smooth" as if that will make the gloss paint go on any better!

But I am happily doing it and enjoying it. I know there are things I would be apprehensive about tackling yet such as coping with a long journey to my son in Gdansk for a 2 week stay and being able to keep going during the time away (that's next year's goal for 2 trips - as a test run and then for his wedding)

But don't dwell on the not-yet-ables or the can't-dos. Today the sun is shining in a beautiful blue Scottish sky. The snow is melting. And I am happily decorating.

All the best. Better go before my brushes harden.

Take it SMOOTH everyone!

We need this sort of info to give hope .Thankyou. Just trying to get my head around the proportions of t4 to t3 : you are on 100 t4 and a total of 7.5mcg of t3 ??

So firstly ,congrats on getting someone to provide t3 , and secondly I need to do some head scratching to get clear on the proportions of t4 to t3 .Back soon

Yes those are my doses. thyroid zapped with radioactive iodine. Adding the 7.5mcg lio has increased my ft3 from 17% to 72%. On 100mcg levo only my ft4 was 60% so the lio has reduced that level to 50%.

How much would you be charging for a ' small bathroom ' ?

and yes, the skirting boards are much too low - even for cleaning - who put them there !!

Good luck and yes it's getting in that headspace that your energy will be there again tomorrow if you don't overdo it, though it's difficult as it's generally just that last bit that take 4 times as long than expected to complete.

Lalatoot you tease! It is probably just me but I was on tenterhooks starting to read your post. What has happened, I was wondered? The relief and pleasure however on reading the whole thing is FAB! Well done (doing) Lalatoot!

So good to hear about your progress towards recovery Lalatoot 👏🤗 I always have to focus on end results, not the process, it helps me to achieve my goals and overcome procrastination.

Enjoy Gdansk, when you finely make it. It used to be my stomping ground, most beautiful old town, many places to stop for a rest while enjoying coffee and beautiful cakes.

How lovely to hear your positive progress. I'm about 5 months in from beginning to add T3 to Levo and still pretty much sofa bound although I do feel different in myself.

May you decorate more of your home and enjoy the fruits of your labours.

What an achievement to go from bed ridden to doing home improvements. Thanks for sharing your story and keeping hope alive for everyone.

PS....... when I read smooth, Barry White's voice popped in my head.

Keep swimming silky smooth in the waters of life

Strangely enough Barry came on the radio when I was cooking our meal and I though Mr. Smooth!
