consultant appointment

hi,

I am a little nervous as I have my follow up with my consultant later.

had an MRI scan this week on my head and lots of bloods taken 2 weeks ago. Previous bloods in my profile.

I got got to say a number of things to him so have made a note this time.

On my letter I received after my first appointment he said I had a palpable thyroid, low blood pressure.

are these indicative of a pituitary issue?

thanks any any words of wisdom greatly appreciated.

I’m unsure when the blood tests noted in your profile were taken, so I suggest that you add a date to these.

Do you have a print out any of your most recent tests?

You are doing the right thing in writing down all your questions prior to your appointment. Sometimes my list is extensive, so I rank the questions in order of priority.

I have updated, November is the date of those ones I think, he didn’t feel the need to repeat them again as they had been done 3 times in as many months all with similar results.

I think by his letter he thinks it’s a pituitary disorder.

I didn’t mention some symptoms and I have lots of questions so great idea to rank them. Thanks

I have asked the secretary for my results so will share

Have you now tested BOTH TPO and TG antibodies

What are most recent results and ranges for

Vitamin D

Folate

B12

Ferritin

Have you had ultrasound scan of thyroid

These were your November 2022 tests:

TPO 30 (0-50)

TSH 0.35 mIU/L (0.35 - 4.94) 0.0%

Free T4 (fT4) 11.1 pmol/L (9 - 19.10) 20.8%

Free T3 (fT3) 3.8 pmol/L (2.4 - 6) 38.9%

T4:T3 Ratio 2.921

Do you not have any thyroid tests for this year?

What is your current dose of thyroid medication?

Have you tested key thyroid vitamins (ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D), as recommended in your post 11 months ago?

thanks for your responses. Yes i had some in January which were similar but I can’t find them. Not T3 though.

I have had about 7 tubes of blood taken when at my private appointment so I’m sure most of that was done will get results tonight.

MRI done on Monday of brain don’t think thyroid was done as suspected pituitary. Although thyroid noted palpable on physical examination.

I’m seeing a professor who specialises in pituitary so hoping to get to the bottom of it.

Not on medication. Hope to be.

I guess the purpose of the post is to seek advice on anything I should speak to the consultant about as I’m a bit nervous they will not treat me.
