I've been asked by my doctor's clinic if I'd like the pneumonia vacinne as I'm now 65.I have hypothyroidism and want to know if it's ok to take this vacinne with this condition.
Just being cautious.
Thank you.

I had it a few years ago with no ill effects, it didn't stop me getting pneumonia though.
I had it and no problems.
I’ve received two kinds of pneumonia vaccines: PCV13 (which is now PCV15) and PCV23 (since I have two autoimmune disorders in addition to being HypoT). No issues with either except for a sore arm.
As with any vaccine, make sure your arm is relaxed and hanging at your side when getting the injection. Also, make sure the nurse/doctor doesn’t jab too high on the arm. To reduce arm soreness, take (2) acetaminophen afterwards, drink electrolytes and massage the injection site throughout the day to work the vaccine into the muscle.
hi, I have been seeing an immunologist at my local hospital and had to have a pnuemococcal injection as my antibodies were low. I have had 2 or 3 of them in 20 years. When my bloods were tested I had made no antibodies. I have recently read an article that said there are two newer versions which should be used as they have a better outcome. Not sure why they aren’t, maybe it is cost or something else.
Just maybe useless information to non coeliacs, but apparently those who are coeliac need re dosing with pneumonia vaccine every 5 years now, this was new news to me last year.
I had no problems with the vaccine at all. It never crossed my mind to be concerned. I was given it younger than you due to diabetes.
If I feel cautious, I wait and take no action until I feel clear as to what to do. Just a thought
I am interested in the first reply by Seaside Susie. Took the vaccine, still infected by illness. That is thought provking.
No vaccine is 100% effective in this case around 70% and protects against 23 strains of pneumococcal bacteria. So you can be one of the unlucky people that has one of the other 57 strains that can cause disease or one of the unlucky 30% of people where the vaccine hasn't worked.
You were told the jab would protect you, and you would not infect others. As a responsible citizen you believed it. Studies are now showing that after 10 months from the jab, your immune system is less than the unjabbed. I work with patients and never been infected and will never submit to the clot shot based on my research in medical databases.
I had mine 8+ years back and can't say I had any ill effects besides a sore arm. I have asthma though so I was offered it alongside my seasonal flu vaccine when it became more of a routine vaccine
I had it a few years ago. No problem
I have hypothyroidism and had the vaccine with no problem.
i would not get the vaccine
I am 65, I have Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism and I’ve had my pneumonia vaccine with no problems.
I had it 3 years ago, no problems.
I Had The pneumonia vaccine when I was 60, have had hypothyroidism since I was 40, I am now 80. I feel fine have had no problems.
I had mine last summer 2022, no problems.
I had mine January 2018 no problem.Unfortunately i got severe pneumonia September 2019.I do have a weakened immune system due to meds i take for Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Definitely not. Why? You have an immune system. There is a vaccine for everything and if it doesn't prevent the thing that you took it for, what's the point? Better to eat organic food, and take plenty of supplements, or a homeopathic treatment.
totally agree eat all organic . especially after the last 3 years i would be very wary of vaccines😀
so glad to read this! me too unvaxxed ,no way would i get that so called vaccine. me too never had the 'virus' almost never wore a mask [which do nothing [aside from showing compliance and fear they are excellent at that 😀 have the horse version ivermectin on hand just in case and quercetin. no one has listened to me though and have been treated like a leper by some family and friends
Yep, you are way ahead of the curve. Congratulate yourself for wisdom. The rest will catch up eventually. Medical research is on your side. I am lucky to be in a conservative area where people do their due diligence and are not mere sheeple.
Tlflom ...describing vaccines of any kind as 'clot shots' and the people who choose to have them as 'sheeple' is unhelpful and disrespectful . We all have to make our own mind about these issues taking into account the risks of a vaccination for something vs. the risks of catching it. Those of us who knew young fit healthy adults who died from sars-cov-2 had to think about it quite hard before coming to our decision . I chose not to, and don't want an influenza or pneumonia vaccine either ~ but that doesn't give me the right to speak like that about people who do. People have their reasons , and it it doesn't make them sheep .
and anyway , don't be so "sheepist" ~ some sheep i've known were very rebellious.
thank you so much . i hope they do ,so far though no one i know has changed , no apologies either for having treated me and those like us like lepers thinking is good for us to be excluded from restaurants schools theaters etc . and congratulate yourself too for being able to think for yourself and be immune from the propaganda and fear mongering . you are so lucky to be in a conservative area .i'm in blue state blue area masks everywhere again! they never really went away . so glad there are others like me out there and here! thank you
I had mine last year and I am on 100mg Levothyroxine. I had no problems at all after the vaccine, I have also had my regular flu jab and 5 Covid vaccinations.
I am closing this post to replies because members have diverted into discussions about other vaccines and medicines irrelevant to the post.
