Your Body in Balance - Neal Barnard
I think this probably works in reverse too. The more out of kilter your hormones are, the fatter your fat cells get to pump out hormones to balance things out…
It makes so much sense doesn't it.... whether adolescent, pre or post menopausal, when your weight doesn't behave as you would expect it's actually balancing your hormones you need to look at!
So HRT can't be all bad when your body is desperately trying to sort out the loss of hormones by chubbing up 💃
So my bum doesn't look big in this; I just have a lot of hormones.Think that's what is says, Eeyore.
I have no thyroid or female hormones and my body went insane .
No testosterone?
Nope
How do you function??
I function fine actually aside from weight that went out of control after my thyroid was removed.
But wouldn't that suggest that your fat cells are multiplying in an attempt to create hormones?
So your experience ties up with this?
Try to get any doctor to believe your weight gain is because you have no thyroid and no female hormones …. But yes hormones definitely has a lot to do with everything.
Have you managed to get some HRT to try and balance things out yourself?
Im on HRT have been on that for 20 years now… recently my Male Endo said your at menopausal age you can stop the HRT now… I laughed well your at manapause age you can stop viagra now ….. My hubby cringes…..It irks me when Male doctors think females should stop hrt when they hit menopause age but yet and old guy can take viagra to keep him feeling like a man for the rest of his life and women can suffer … idiots.
I stayed at 62kg from age 18 - 35 and at 6'1 I was on the cusp of underweight. Didn't matter what I did or didn't eat or how much I exercised my weight didn't move. I wonder how much that impacted my thyroid. I can't quite work it out in relation to the quote! 🤣 My brains dead today.
Same. As soon as my kids are old enough I'll get them thyroid tests as a base
