I was 75mcg been on 100mcg Doctor putting me down to 87.5
Check thyroid levels again in January had heart palpitations for 10 days that’s why getting lowered
I started taking thyroxine in evening switched backed to more as didn’t make much difference
Cut out diary and Gulten for 3 weeks haven’t felt much difference .
I’m on hrt gel 6/7 weeks and one Medroxprostrone .
Just wondering if there is anything else I can do to boost my thyroid other than healthy diet and limit processed foods.
thanks in advance

Please add reference ranges for your results, as these vary from lab to lab we need them to be able to interpret your results. Your vitamins all look low.
Please also add unit of measurement for B12 and Vit D as these can vary.
Also essential to have FT4 reference range.

Folate - Serum 3.1 ug/L (2.8 - 20) 1.7%
Vitamin B12 (serum) 323 nmol/L (180 - 2000) 7.9%
Vitamin D 67 nmol/L (50 - 139) 19.1%
Ferritin 45 ug/L (15 - 200) 16.2%
Vitamin levels are all far too low. Very common when not on high enough replacement dose of thyroid hormones
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Aiming for folate at least over 17-18
B12 at least over 500
Vitamin D at least around 80nmol minimum and over 100nmol may be better
Ferritin at least over 70

Vitamin B12 (active) 323 nmol/L (180 - 2000) 7.9%
That can't be Active B12, that's a Total B12 range, Active B12 is about 37.5-188.

When you finish these multivitamins
Retest FULL thyroid and vitamin testing
Multivitamins are never recommended on here
Usually just supplement daily vitamin D and vitamin B complex….possibly separate B12 if B12 not over 500
Meanwhile working on improving low ferritin by increasing iron rich foods in your diet

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking
August result suggested you were under medicated
Retest thyroid levels 6-8 weeks after changing dose or brand of levothyroxine
Always test thyroid levels early morning, and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

thank you did that for test been on 100mcg accord .
Still to pick up new prescription at chemist not sure what brand will be going down to 87.5 as had heart palpitations.

100mcg one day and 75mcg alternate days (3/4 of 100mcg Accord)
Only brand that makes 75mcg is Teva
Reply (0)Report
just picked up prescription 87.5 50mg 25mcg &12.5mcg Tevvia & accord brand

Teva upsets many people
12.5mcg tablets only made by Teva and are 10 x price of just taking 75mcg and 100mcg alternate days
Reply (0)Report
if Teva doesn’t agree with you
Request 100mcg and extra 50mcg Accord brand only
Cut 50mcg tablets in half to get 25mcg = 75mcg
Take 75mcg one day and 100mcg the next = 87.5mcg on average
Price per 28 tablets NHS pays
100mcg - 82p
50mcg - 83p
75mcg - £2.58 (Teva brand only)
12.5mcg - £12.49 (Teva brand only)
