Hello. Looking for some advice from you lovely people regarding the latest TSH result. Yes, TSH only as that's all the doc requested....(head in hands). After a bad reaction to Teva 75mcg, 3 weeks into taking Teva 75mcg one day, and Accord 50mcg the next, the pharmacist recommend I just go up to 75mcg of Accord everyday. I was feeling desperately unwell so just went with it. 4 weeks later I had a blood test and TSH was 2.1 range 0.35 to 4.94 reduced from 3.19 in September. Doctor said continue on the daily 75 mcg and test again in 4 weeks. Or should I increase another quarter of a 50 mcg to a total of 87.5 mcg now and retest in another 8 weeks? The doctor has agreed to do TSH, FT4 and FT3 at the next test. I feel a bit better, still tired but getting out of bed is a bit easier. Sleeping a bit better, but I feel very bloated and have had changes in stools, and a bit breathless. I don't think it is Ferritin related as that has been slowly on the increase in the last few months. (67 in September and i take 2 x Ferrous Fumarate everyday). Also at 49 I'm peri menopausal, this is the first month where i haven't had a period. Can an increase in Levo disrupt periods? After being undermedicated for 20 years of course I'm in a hurry to feel better but want to do the best thing for my body. Also I'm starting a new job on Monday and really want to be able to think, remember things and perform! I have in the past been sacked due to under performance (severe anxiety). A worry living alone with mortgage and bills and no family to help out. Thank you all for being so helpful. xx

Advice after latest test result.

hi, others will be along soon with more detail but yes, unless it’s a coincidence my change from 75-100mcg led to a 3 week period and now I seem to have skipped one. There could have been other factors, age, peri menopause, stress, flu & covid jabs.
With my increases I wait 8 weeks each time, get private blood tests and show the GP so I can control the timing of the blood test.
When increasing I take the new dose on alternate days for a few days. I’ve noticed I feel amazing week 1 and 2, dreadful week 3-5 and then a bit better but then it wears off. For the first time at 100mcg I’m actually unsure whether I need an increase. I need to figure out if my symptoms are caused by other things! 🦋💚🦋

So how long have you been on 75mcg Accord everyday?
Are you now taking a daily vitamin B complex to improve low folate levels
4 weeks on Accord 75mcg daily. I have been taking seperate B vits for a long time but not Folate, and that was a bit low so started that 1 month ago as well.
so yes really you do need to wait on 75mcg another 4 weeks…..get tested and then can increase to 100mcg on alternate days
100mcg and 75mcg alternate days for 6-8 weeks…..then retest
Likely to need further increase after that
Remember to stop taking any supplements that contain biotin a week before blood test
