I decided to delay starting T3 and the phlebotomy. I dropped T4 from 188 to 144 mcg. It's been about a week and so far so good. Dry mouth is better. That's very much a relief. Still not normal but getting there. dding extra Vitamin D is helping it also I think. Mood is still about the same. Hopefully it will stay that way until my next test.
Update: I decided to delay starting T3 and the... - Thyroid UK

Are you sure you've typed that correctly? Those are very strange numbers for levothyroxine medication! 😀
It's correct. I was taking 2 seperate pills before: the 100 and 88. I just split the 88 in half to do 144 instead of 150. Didnt think it was a big deal.
Ah I see. Which country are you in? We don't have 88mcg tablets here in the UK 🙂
With Levo you won't really start feeling the effects of a reduced dose for 2 weeks as it's a storage hormone. Your previous blood result showed an FT3 at 67% of the range and such a large reduction may well take it down below 50% meaning more symptoms.
Are you sure that the dry mouth is thyroid related? It's not an issue I have heard of and could be related to something different perhaps? Has your GP ever mentioned Sjogrens?
Perhaps it's a coincidence that the dry mouth started at similar time to starting Levo? Dry mouth is a hallmark symptom of Sjogrens which is another autoimmune condition linked to hypo.
Are any of your other key vitamins a bit low, especially as vit D is helping? Could be you have other low levels contributing too?
If you already have some T3 then it won't be the end of the world if you feel worse in a few weeks. Can just start on that. For full benefits of adding T3 you need all your ducks in a row which means all key vitamins optimal. That would give you the best chance at getting rid of dry mouth if it is your thyroid.
Could be a coincidence. Vitamins are good. Vitamin D was optimal last check. B12 was okay. Started supplementing methyl b12 and methylfolate and that helped a lot. Ferritin is too high...Yea I figured if I start feeling bad just have to sweat it out until my next test in a month, then I can begin T3. I'm very used to feeling like garbage so I can make it a few weeks. Although Im going through a tough break up with someone who is very special to me. When I feel low I start ruminating on the past and thinking I can fix things and just make things worse. I need to be strong and move on. Cant support anyone in this state. Sorry for the rant lol. Should be telling a therapist
