Went back on zoloft a few weeks ago and went back to 50 mcg of levothyroxine. I'm not feeling well and feel like the zoloft Is working less effectively than before starting levothyroxine. Its discouraging because I thought that combo was what was making me feel so well in the beginning. Then I got off zoloft to see if it was just the levothyroxine causing me to feel good and I slowly started to feel bad again. Now I'm back on them both and dont feel much improvement at all. Hoping I just need more levothyroxine because I'm cold and tired most of the time and my heartbeat feels slower. I have a blood test on december 2 so I'm just gonna try to get by until then. I sleep for long hours at night but still feel exhausted when I wake up. I dont really know what's going on and I'm too tired to figure it out.

You need to leave it for 6 weeks before a thyroid blood test when you change your meds. Ssris such as ZOLOFT can make thyroid medication less effective. 50mcg levo is a low dose. Have you stopped the armour?

Yes I switched back to levo to see how well I convert t4 to t3 since I'm going to get my free t3 tested for the first time.

You need to wait till your TSH is down around 1 on levo then before looking at conversion figures.

THIS IS ME. My exact situation. I stopped Zoloft a few months ago and everything went down hill so I started taking it again and 50mg of Levo. My heart rate has been low too. Sometimes at 59bmp. Usually stays around 60 and then if I’m up walking around it ranges between 70’s and 80’s. I also feel like I can feel it beating harder than usual. Also I’m getting heart palpitations right when I lay in bed. I was told they were extra heartbeats but just feels like fluttering.

We will both get better! Let me know your next test results and I’ll do the same!

in reply to krm13

Do you think I'll get better?

Yes because when I started Zoloft and Levo again I felt like every muscle and bone in my body was exhausted. But now I’m a month and two weeks back on Zoloft and I have my energy and mood back. My thyroid levels are still off, which is why my heart rate is lower, but the Zoloft has helped ease other hypo symptoms. I think your body is in shock with trying to readjust to both medicines at the same time, but the Zoloft will kick back in!

Maybe. We cant depend on zoloft. We can be healthy without it
