feeling knackered all time.feel bloated up. Thought I'd sussed it.stopped sertraline couple months now thought levothyroxine would work better without it. Did feel temporary better on 150. But each day just feel like sliding back down to knackered, down bloatness.

Request GP do full thyroid and vitamin testing

Book early morning test, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

Do you always get same brand

Do you have weekly pill dispenser so easy to remember to take levothyroxine everyday day

ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

When were vitamin levels last tested

have you tried dietary changes like removing gluten and dairy from your diet? That helps many people. How are your vitamin levels? Would be worth getting them rechecked.

thanks for your reply. I keep thinking I try lose weight or make changes but honestly lack motivation and when fed up depriving myself from food not great either.

Get your thyroid treatment right before you even think about losing weight. Start with cutting out gluten which is a huge problem for many thyroid patients.

To get your thyroid hormone working properly you need OPTIMAL levels of key vitamins. Ask your GP to test ferritin, folate, B12 and D3. Post results here when you have them.

couldn’t see any recent results for B12 or folate

Are you currently taking vitamin B complex and/or separate B12

Iron levels need retesting

Are you still on iron supplements

Remember iron must be minimum 4 hours away from levothyroxine

I used to feel bloated a lot, but eliminating gluten really helped, so a GF trial is definitely worth a go. As others have said, don’t focus on dieting, your main goal should be to optimise thyroid levels and key vitamins.

I’ve suffered with high anxiety since being diagnosed with a thyroid condition, but this has thankfully reduced by following forum advice to optimise my thyroid levels & key vitamins.
