Anyone know the ranges for a monitor my health vitamin D test?
My latest result is 75nmol/L after loading dose of 4000iu daily D3 with K2-MK7 Better You bought on Amazon since second week of June 2022.
No range is given on the MMH website results page.
Result in June 2022 was 47nmol/l (50-200) Medichecks.
I’m thinking continue on 4000iu rather than dropping to a maintenance dose and retest in December. Any thoughts on this proposed plan would be much appreciated.
Thanks 🦋💚🦋

My level is between20-30 ng/ml or My level is between 30-40ng/ml
The Vit D Council, the Vit D Society and Grassroots Health all recommend a level of 100-150nmol/L (40-60ng/ml), with a recent blog post on Grassroots Health mentioning a study which recommends over 125nmol/L (50ng/ml).
So now you look at how much is needed to reach 50ng/ml and you'll see that they suggest 3,700iu per day or 2,500iu per day, so you could continue with your 4,000iu and retest in 3 months to see how much improvement you've made.
Do you take D3's other important cofactor - magnesium which helps the body convert D3 into it's usable form?
Thanks so much this is very helpful. You’ve saved my poor befuddled brain from having to work it all out myself. Thank you 🙏 I currently use a topical magnesium spray at night. Prior to this I used a really lovely magnesium night time cream with Lavender . I think I’ll go back to that, the spray stings a bit. Although, would you recommend tablet form rather than this?

I have some magnesium gel and I really dislike the feeling on my skin, I only use it now if I get a cramp, I take an oral supplement instead.
The usual suggested dose for a magnesium supplement is 350-450mg, I don't know how much you'll get from your lovely sounding cream, does it tell you on the jar?
It's a tiny, tiny soft tablet that melts instantly, you use 4 and take as soon as you feel a cramp coming on. It might be enough on it's own if quick enough but use in conjunction with the gel if cramp takes a hold, rub gel into the area and massage. I find usually 5 minutes tops and cramp goes.
For oral supplements am I right in thinking magnesium citrate is the better option? There are so many types.
Magnesium citrate isn't necessarily the best option for everyone. If you are constipated or need help in that department then yes that's the form to choose, but if not then it's probably the wrong one. It's best to look at what each one helps with and choose the appropriate one. I use magnesium citrate (because I do need help in that department) also magnesium taurate for heart benefits:
ah amazing thanks so much for sharing I’ll have a read. Yep no help required in the citrate department 🙈 I’ll look at other options. Mag phos, blimey that takes me back… used to have tonnes of new era in the house as a child I’ll remind Mum, she’s forgotten! Much appreciated 🦋💚🦋
I was going to do a D test but didn't want to stop using it as they suggest to take a break from it before the test for 7 or more days? I take 10 000 IU's as DR MYhill reccommends , have done so before I heard of her reccommendation too) as that's the equivalent of 1 hours sunshine on our entire naked body....Good LUck

Where have you heard that?
No, you can continue supplementing Vit D up to and including the day before the test, no need to stop it. Continuing to supplement means the test result will reflect what you are achieving with the dose you are taking.
See this video from the NHS lab which offers a Vit D fingerprick test to the general public, they tell you that you can continue supplementing at around 2 minutes 30 seconds into the video:
I didn’t know about stopping taking Vit D before testing. I thought that was B vits and Thyroid blood tests that required the 7 day break. The £29 monitor my health finger prick was posted Monday morning and results in my inbox on Wednesday afternoon.
