My last blood test whilst on a liothyronine trial is in.
endo reduced Levothyroxine after results in July without a discussion from 100mcg to 74mcg.
latest figures are,
July
TSH 0.14 (0.27-4.2) 0.08
T4. 14. (11-22). 16
T3 6.5. ( 3.1-6.8). 6.1
Blood taken first thing, lio taken 11 hours prior.
I felt much better on the July results, back to walking slower and getting breathless.
To indicate how well my Endo dept is functioning, after the consultant wrote to GP to reduce levo, two weeks later after I sent an email informing him of the improvements his registrar wrote to GP instructing him to continue with 100mcg levo! Right hand etc!!!!
Any comments about results would be helpful.

Taking solgar high potency “50s”. Can you recommend a good iron supplement pls.
Sorry you’re correct about T4, my mistake, it’s 14.
With regards to changing dose to 75/100, that’s exactly what I was thinking. Whether or not the Endo contacts me is debatable as the registrar’s letter implied he was handing me back to the GP.
With HIGH ferritin you should NOT be considering taking any iron supplements
A good vitamin B complex
The one we always recommend on here …
Thorne Basic B …..it’s a large capsule
Can tip out and swallow with water….if can’t swallow capsules
IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results
In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate methyl folate supplement…..eg Jarrow methyl folate
Thanks for that information. I remembered the advice about stopping vit B. Thanks for clarifying the issue with ferritin and folate. I’m so grateful for the “handholding” you all provide, I would never have coped without you and this amazing organisation.
I emailed the Endo after the 2 month blood test, told him how much I had improved etc. It was his registrar who then wrote to the GP with instructions to continue prescribing. In the meantime he gave me another 3 months supply. If you’ve read my other emails you’ll see that I’m still waiting for more than half of my tablets cos there’s an issue with the supply chain!
