Ectopics again

Does anyone else suffer with ectopic beats when they are under medicated? I suffered badly a few years ago when my GP reduced my dose I got it increased again and have been fine for a while now but am suffering again and of course my GP only did TSH which was of course fine.i have just ordered a medichecks test and will post results but am curious about anyone else's experiences.its been a while since I asked and it's always helpful to know as they can be quite daunting. And GP just wants to give you beta blockers or tell you it's anxiety don't they know that even anxiety can be a symptom of hypothyroidism?

I used to get ectopics for many years as I was dropping off to sleep. Anxiety is linked to them, which of course is a symptom of being hypothyroid. Ectopics are not harmful it helped me when I realised that. The more you worry about them the more you will have. Get the medichecks test done and see what yours frees are. Then if you think you need an increase in meds you can hopefully have a discussion with your GP

Thank you for replying, currently I am having them all day. I have to remember this has happened before and try not to worry because you are right. If you become anxious about them they get worse.

I had a bad batch of NDT a few years ago. My heart went silly and I wore a monitor for 3 days which showed lots of ectopics. GP looked at the trace and did not know what to do. I looked at the blood test results and knew instantly that I was seriously underdosed. I started a different brand of NDT and the ectopics went very quickly, so yes, being underdosed does effect the heart.

I was supposed to get an appointment with a heart specialist. It never came...

That proves it. I am not even going to mention them to gp until after I've had medichecks done. They are driving me mad though . Thank you for replying.

I know this is an old post but I've only recently made the connection between hypothyroidism and my ectopic heartbeats when they kicked off in earnest after reducing my thyroxine dose and reduced again after putting it back up. I have been having them investigated separately for many years and even went for a cardiac ablation, but they were not happening at all that day of course (which is extremely rare). I even saw an endocrinologist back in 2017 who find me it was unrelated!
