I'm trying to work out if I'm being unreasonable by making a complaint about this!
I am away from home and have a urine infection. I tried calling the local GP surgery but they couldn't offer any help so I've gone via Lloyds pharmacy online Doctor and paid for a course of antibiotics. You have to do a questionnaire and it asks about any other prescription medications. I noted that I am prescribed 50mcg levo and 105mg Erfa NDT.
I received a message back with the header 'more information required and the message
"Dear WitchingHour, please confirm by whom were you prescribed Erfa NDT ? Was this in UK?"
I responded with Hello, What relevance is my prescription for NDT to a urine infection please? Thanks.
The next message I received was 'Your request for medicine has been approved'
I was unreasonably angry about it and I think it was because for the first time, my prescription felt vulnerable and I felt panicked at the thought of being without it.
I just feel like the pharmacist overstepped her bounds and I want to complain.
I would just let it go...I cannot see that it will have any bearing on your prescriptions.
I have Chronic UTI and when it flares I feel more sensitive about things that I might otherwise ignore....your UTI may have done the same.
Hope the antibiotics help soon....
Pharmacists have to be very careful when dispensing drugs so maybe just a routine question....they have to ensure medications are appropriate and safe.
Perhaps as I suggested, just a routine question....not worth wasting your energy on.You got the antibiotic and you still have NDT.....maybe in the interim she checked NDT and realised it had no relevance
I need high dose T3-only and have to self medicate with no NHS help. I very much understand the difficulties about supply ( or lack off) but it is what it is I'm afraid and somehow we just have to deal with it
I wonder did the pharmacist even know what NDT is? Maybe s/he wanted to find out from the doctor who prescribed it exactly what it was. Or maybe she wanted some herself!
I think I was bothered because it obviously must've had no relevance to issuing the antibiotics because she didn't push any harder for the information.
Yes. All appointments had been booked and their recorded message stated they would only take emergency calls! 🤷♀️ I probably could've pushed harder but I'm on holiday and didn't want the hassle!
