Today's results: TSH 0.31 T3 6.3 T4 12.9
I just want to share my good news.
I first contacted a private thyroid doctor in December; I found them via Thyroid UK and want to post about my very positive experience.
It was the first time I felt someone had really listened to me. At the time I felt exhausted to the point of wondering whether life was really worth living anymore but this doctor felt sure they could help.
My T3 was at 3.9 which is apparently within the 'normal range' but the doc assured me that an improvement in this area was possible, their opinion was that the levothyroxine I was taking (125 mcg) was not being converted from T4 to T3. (I tested negative for Hashimoto's).
Today, six months later, I am feeling much better. I started Armour NDT at 1 grain and very slowly went up to 2.5. I had palpitations when I tried to increase it too fast but I have settled comfortably at this level. My brain fog is clearing, I have twice as much energy, if not more and miraculously my blood pressure is normal (on medication). I was on a maximum dose of an ACE inhibitor but still getting high readings, I am now on an ARB at half the max dose and my readings are perfect.
I cannot thank Thyroid UK enough for the information I received from them and the list of doctors they provided. I feel as if I am getting my life back again and am enormously grateful and so glad I took this step.
