It’s possible that very high antibodies cause symptoms irrespective of effects on the thyroid but otherwise I personally wouldn’t bother.

Pen, antibodies are really only useful to diagnose the reason for the thyroid problem as this will guide treatment for either graves disease or hashimotos.Thereafter antibodies fluctuate anyway so there is no need to test .

Important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once a year

If GP won’t test, then cheapest option to test thyroid and vitamins together is Medichecks advanced test ….or BH

Active B12 over 70

Folate and ferritin at least half way through range

It might depend why you do not have a Thyroid. I usually have Thyroid peroxidase tested as part of cancer detection once a year.

If you only want TSH, FT4 and FT3 measured then Monitor My Health is the cheapest option. If you need your vitamins measured then Medichecks advanced thyroid test is best - antibodies are included whether you need them or not.

Hi, I have no thyroid and am menopausal. Piling on weight. GP told me that me taking Lthyroxine 100 mg is sufficient. I am very tall 1.75 metres and weigh 110 kgs. Does the weight and height not come into the dosage, too. Attached blood test results from GP. Thanks for your help.
