Hi. Please can someone look at my blood test results - done by Medichecks, early morning, no levothyroxine for 24 hours prior, fasting blood test. I take 75 mg of levo each day. I’m aware that my folate level is low. I’ve started taking folic acid today. Any comments on my results would be much appreciated. Also I have 28 tablets of 5 mg of T3 which I bought in Rhodes - would I be ok to try it - my Endo hasn’t suggested it - but I’m really struggling with my weight - it’s only a stone but it’s enough to make me feel very sluggish and unhappy. Also my hands and feet are permanently cold, my fingers and toes regularly go numb, my nails are brittle and ridged. I feel ok in myself but I know I’m not right. Any advice gratefully accepted. Thank you.

Advice on blood test results please
So your Ft3 has dropped dramatically from 6 when on 100mcg
Now Ft3 is right at bottom of range
When are you next seeing endo ……They need to prescribe T3
Send endo these results and request prescription for T3

Hi. Thank you for your reply. I will phone the Endo and ask him although I don’t hold out much hope. How much T3 should I start on do you think? Would I need to reduce my levo dose from 75 mcg? Thank you for your advice.
Yes you would probably need to reduce levothyroxine as Ft4 is still at top of range
Is endocrinologist NHS or private?
The Endo is NHS. It’s so frustrating as he’s very slow with follow up appointments. If I sent him my blood results I’m not sure he’d look at them. Maybe I should go private but I don’t know where that leaves me with prescriptions for T3.
If you see consultant privately you don’t qualify for T3 on NHS
However some patients have subsequently managed to transfer to NHS
Private prescription for T3 enables access to Thybon Henning 20mcg tablets via specialist U.K. pharmacies
Thybon Henning 20mcg tablets are approx 50p -60p per 20mcg tablet
Typically daily dose is between 10mcg-30mcg per day

Can you check that? I doubt very much you've got T3 tablets at a dose of 5mg. They come in 20mcg on prescription here in the UK and generally those available without prescription would be 25mcg.
As 1 mg is 1,000 mcg then 5mg T3 would blow your head off!
Is it Unipharma T3 you bought in Rhodes? If so they are 25mcg tablets.
